Cool.

He should of said "60's style slot track... but without the bumps on the straightaway." LOL.

I wonder when Trevor Bayne in the 21 car gets into big wreck, do they yell "Track"?

I think Ryan Blaney is in the 21 car and yesterday a guy told me he is going to Penske next year.  He is one of few bright spots for NASCAR.

I think Trailer Bayne maybe drives for Roush.

I hope the don't paint the car bright yellow :shok:

Anyone know the track specs or builder? The legs look like Gerding, and I'm guessing 100' lap length.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it is a Tunkel track.

I don't think Ogilvie (Brian Crosby) was still building tracks when this got built.

Tunkel just installed a small oval for a local guy and he did a great job, it is a six-lane 20 foot oval, banked about 12 degrees or so. Small and not so challenging but it is a quality build.

Recently saw a new Tunkel drag strip in Tullahoma, TN, and I was impressed with the build quality, too.

The Tunkel King that was at various locations in the Nashville area, run by Tracy Brown and DW, was an all time favorite of mine.

I wasn't a huge fan of the reverse panel, but the track was quirk-free, and didn't require getting a local witch doctor to perform voodoo on your car, for it to get around.

Reverse panel? Was the black lane up at the lead-on or were the connection posts reversed at each hookup?

Black in the lead-on.

It made driving it and marshaling your own car up there, easier, but you lost your car, in the deadman, behind the wall.

Also, more than a few racers, when first practicing, on black, would deslot up there, and then put there car back on, but on red. LOL.

PS: To guess the hook-up was reversed, would imply slot racing isn't as dysfunctional as it is, and there is a standard hook-up. Again, LOL.

The track in Snellville, GA ( a Pape clip, kind of a King without the finger) had the black at the lead-on and I liked it. The driver on black had a much better view of the donut and I liked the perspective the driver had on red coming into the deadman. I have never driven a King with that layout.

Good point about the hookup being reversed.

I occasionally run on a Tunkel four-lane mini-orange club track here in NH. The quality of this track is first class. The TN Tunkel Bros. are cabinet makers by profession.

Thanks for the link, Mike. I was right about the lap length, though!

I have raced on this track's twin. It was called a Tunkel Windsor, and was located in Lewis Center, OH, just north of Columbus. And it needed a lot of work. The braid depth varied quite a bit, with the deepest spot being the lap counter. You had to have someone count laps for your car, because you would miss laps. The slight launch pad before the counter further aggravated the situation..

Only slot car track I'ver ever been to where the owner walked around barefoot.
