Please do not flood that man with huge orders. Else, he'll just close the doors again. :yes3:

I received my order from TrueScale Saturday in the mail. Ordered a few La Cucaracha Thingie bodies. Victor is great! I put my order order in online for the bodies I wanted that he was offering and I added in the comment box, that I was looking for a Lancer Spoiler body and to let me know when it comes available.

Well, when I opened up the box there was everything I ordered plus two Spoiler bodies!  Thank you, Victor!  :clapping: :good:

Then why do it? Isn't the idea to make money doing what you love?

A hobby is doing what you love Gary.
A job is what you do to live.
It was the huge orders from the various race tracks around the country that turned his "hobby" into drudgery when he already had a job!
Money was not the issue.

I can't tell you how many times my hobby of slot cars has been there for me in my worse of times.

My first was in 1976 or 77. My high school girl friend dumped me. What a heart ache!

Two days later I found MESAC!

Recently frustrated by many things in the slot car body market and not able to spend enough time to fulfill orders on time, then I had a life changing moment and I needed to stop for awhile.

An email telling me I need to be in business made me think "maybe that's what I need"

It feels going to have something to do with this hobby again.
Thank you for your words of encouragement through emails and boards!

Victor,

I can fully appreciate your words! Since my beloved wife died a little over seven years ago, slot cars have saved my life and my love for this hobby gave me reason to get up everyday. It has helped me cope with my grief as well as issues with my health. Slot cars are so wholesome and have been a great blessing in my life entirely.

When Yvonne passed away and I was sick for a quite while, and I had to sell off everything (including all my precious slot car collection) that I had collected for in my  retirement. A lifetime of work and everything was soon gone, but I started over. And if not for the love and support of the slot car community I would have been long gone! I started over and I continue to love this great hobby.

Glad your coming back, you are important to a whole lot of people here.

Victor's quality has always been a couple of steps above everything else in the Retro World. I know that if he re-ups his Retro collection, there will be a flood of orders from NorCal (myself included) and especially SoCal. While this could be a good thing from the business aspect, hopefully it won't become too much of a burden on the personal side.

I know from recent experience that at certain times of one's life there is such a thing as too much success (or maybe demand for your products or services might be the more apt term).

I wish you all the best Victor and hope it will be fulfilling rather than burdensome.
