Decals are inside, of course. Tried not to go too crazy with them, since it is a rare body

The enamel hi heat clear coat I brushed on attacked the Mura sticker a little. I'll call it a "battle scar" for now :)

When it's time for new brushes and a motor inspection, I'll paint the can and slap a new one on.

All motor and chassis tricks are useless unless the body allows the chassis to settle into it's happy place :wizard:

The Bloom/Waters Champion body fit well, but not perfect:

The big lead wires had to go - they were scratching my paint up front - I changed to Marklin wires

Forward elephant ear was interfering with body so it needed trimming

And a mounting tip:

I always use Koford big head body pins; they mike at .032.

But, when mounting a vintage body like this, first mark with a Sharpie and punch a small pilot hole with a Wal Mart .020 pin.

Later on, use your .032 harpoon and modern pins

Trimmed and mounted. Cockpit is ready for my homemade Chris Amon driver/interior.

Skirts and pin holes are reinforced inside with filament tape.

Spoiler angle is rather acute, but the owner can relax it to his liking if he wants

Chris Amon driver. It's the best I can do. Heck, I'm a doggone mechanic, not an artist :laugh2:

Outstanding restoration.

Looks like it just came out of the Way Back Machine.

Thanks, Sam :)

Track test today:

Zero problems, no tuning required, it's a missile and it handles.

We had fun chasing each other around with my Emott Tottenham replica for a few hot laps.

The owner is hap hap happy. End of story :D
