Is the routing of the lower wire on the motor intentional?

Good question, Eddie. I know it looks like it's squeezed/pinched between the rods, but it's not.

There is a lot more room, both vertically, and horizontally, between those rails at that spot than appears in that photo.

I spend hours painstakingly routing my wires to preclude problems and give good flag return.

Maybe this photo will help:

I've been told that the one-hole Mura motor on this car is very rare as few survive and are terrifyingly fast.
The few test runs I took for its final small adjustments proved that fact in spades to me

I am going to re-open this auction listing and here's the reason why.

Anonymous bidder M1 was contacted in the process of getting all these cars paid for; it was the only car he won. When I contacted him with payment and shipping info, several days later I received this email:

I was hit head-on by a drunk driver mid-January and am trying to recover from a broken knee and jaw.

Needless to say I haven't even thought about slot cars at all since.

I hope you had a second bidder you can contact because at this point in my life I can't do anything except try and recover.

I am truly sorry if this screws you but this is my reality now.

This is the only snag encountered in getting these cars to new owners after nearly 85 cars, so I don't feel that M1 has screwed anyone. I do believe it is fairer to Tom to restart the auction for this car than to move down to the second-highest bidder.

The thread has been re-opened and the car will go to the highest bidder by Sunday, March 18, at 10 PM Eastern time.

Gentlemen,

I don't know how I screwed this one up, but I somehow got it into my head that this auction had closed while I was out of town in TN for a few days without access. I was worried that I couldn't get online to mark it done and in the crush to catch-up on emails and other stuff after I got back I carelessly neglected to check the date I had given.

On reflection, I suspect my intention was not to leave it open for that long and that I had meant to say Feb 18, not Mar 18, as that's the last day of the R4 Retro race in Columbus, OH, I'll be attending. But the older I get, the more mistakes I make...

In any event, I'm unlocking this auction again and will honor the Mar 18 date as I originally revised it.

My apologies to those bidders who were chagrinned by my closing this before I said it would.

Anyone have an update on how Tom is doing? The last I heard was before I went in the hospital the end of Nov.

Another major surgery in early 2018, besides the one in late 2017. No real news on exactly how he is doing, but he is still with us.
