We are ready, eating some eggs toast and bacon right now getting ready for football. Tonight may lose power, luckily we don't live right by the river like we did last year. I live in the same neighborhood as my old elementary school which is a shelter, had a friend here in this neighborhood during the 2004? hurricanes he lost power for a couple hours I lost it for a couple weeks where I lived. Fingers are crossed, but west coast man it looks bad for them I wish them luck. Storm is slowing down and its been rainy few months in FL the water already over sidewalk down the street I can only imagine flooding that may happen on west coast. Good luck to all hopefully it keeps going west into the gulf, if it hooks NE like they always do we are still in trouble on the east coast but they are saying its staying west.

Side note wanted to let everyone also know DZ is evacuated safe in Tennessee. Over the years I've learned two things he doesn't mess with, cold weather or big hurricanes, even though he is a fan of them.   :D

Not sure if that video is appropriate.

It looks as though Cheater might get a taste of Irma on Tuesday. Hope your sump pumps are up to snuff, Greg.

More like an average of 40 MPH.

So much traffic going up.

No sump pump here, Dave. My house is on such an elevation that I'd be one of the very last in the area to suffer from any flooding.

What is more of a worry is I have a heavily wooded lot and high winds could be a real issue.

And Monday is what they're predicting will be the rough day, though who knows...

I (thought) heard on the news the Georgia governor declared mandatory evacuations east of I-95... is that correct?

Phil,

I can't keep up with it and honestly, since Atlanta is so far north in the state, I haven't paid it much heed. I do think you're right.

I just ran out for a few things tonight since a lot of places will not be open tomorrow and heard an interesting interpretation of "mandatory evacuation" on the radio. The commentator claimed that "mandatory evacuation" didn't actually mean that people must leave under penalty of law, but rather that it meant that if a person gets in trouble in some way due to staying, the police and emergency responders will not come to their rescue.

Greg-

That is the way "mandatory evacuation" was interpreted up here during Superstorm Sandy.

Cheers

Good to hear, Greg. I guess the hurricane picked up speed and passed over the northern part of Florida without

doing as much damage as was predicted. Yesterday morning they were saying it wouldn't get up by you until

tomorrow morning. As for the trees, a hurricane will take care of the tree trimming issues for you.LOL

I just got a call from Greg Wells, the wind knocked down a tree on his property, blocked off his driveway and knocked out his internet connection. He says he'll probably be off line for at least a day.

30 mph winds knocked a tree down? Must have already been dead.

Why can't he ask the neighbors to share their wi-fi connection for a day?

Pablo, power is now out for me, too.

And I do plan to ask a neighbor if they'll let me use their wifi.

Any news of Reggie?

The below is a before pic.

Word is Reggie and family are OK.

Also, the track just suffered very minor straightaway damage.

No word on the building it is in.
