Speedzone in Atlanta is selling three tracks according to their Facebook page, the prices are, shall we say, retail. Shame, looks like they are throwing in the towel.

I wouldn't know, I'm in FL. Slot racing is a dying hobby, can't get enough kids involved.

Hi Lindsay,

As a retail operation, yes, as far as I know.

Mark,

Speedzone is actually selling five tracks.

And the cost figures being detailed are not the asking prices. See the first paragraph below.

Here's the text of the Facebook post, made 14 hours ago.

As most people know by now we are looking to sell some of our slot car tracks to make room for some interior renovation. Here is an opportunity for someone to own some of the nicest tracks around. All the figures in the post that follows are for reference only to show that no expense was spared on these track. We will be taking reasonable offers on these tracks as we need to have them sold in a short period of time. Please submit all offer or questions to Richard Van't Hof at 678-427-0017 or by email at adcllc@comcast.net or sales@speedzoneptc.com.

Doesn't sound like they are shutting down, just selling some tracks.

Greg, will they still have a track in use when they do their renovations?

Matt,

I can't answer that with any authority. Based on their Raceway List entry, they're offering every track in the place plus one that used to be set up but isn't now.

Doesn't sound like slots are in SZPTC future plans.

In my opinion the owner wants out but he wants money for his tracks. He owns the building so that helps.

How long he will hold on hoping to sell at high dollar is anybody's guess.

Make him an offer. The worst he can do is say no.
