This one is completely handmade.

Made for me by a guy out east who's name I can't remember.
He hand builds the chassis, bodies, decals, and hand paints everything
The motor is from Strombecker or Pittman or something like that.

Best offer by midnight Eastern time, Tuesday, October 24, 2017. Note that this car is being sold “AS-IS.”

You can post your offer in this thread, or if you wish to remain anonymous, send your offer (stating clearly which car) either in a PM to Cheater here at Slotblog or email him at greg@slotblog.net, and he will post it for you without identification.

Please note this NEW REQUIREMENT: So anonymous bids can be posted to the threads before the auction ends, anonymous bids must be sent ONE HALF HOUR before the ending time listed for the car. For example, if the bidding closes at 11 PM Eastern for posted bids, anonymous bids must be received by 10:30 PM Eastern, whether sent via email or PM.

Buyer to pay shipping costs. Shipping in most cases will be via USPS “First-Class Package Service,” at least within the US. International shipping will be by method of winning bidder's choice at his expense. A small amount will be added for the cost of packaging materials. If insurance is desired (above any amount automatically included) the additional cost will be at the buyer’s expense. It is not expensive to add insurance to First-Class Package Service (for example, $200 of insurance costs just an additional $3.35).

Yep, the name escapes me for now, but it's a guy who sold a lot of cars in this style on eBay... I thought he was based in Michigan in fact.

Motor looks like a Pittman DC196A....

The city of Novi, MI, is about 25 mi northwest of Detroit. I don't recall seeing the cars on eBay.

Didn't come from MI.... Pennsylvania or some place like that
He did make a few of these w/ the same Chassis and motors but I guarantee he never duplicated any of the bodies
I have another from him, a Ford Lotus that will come up later
I think these two were the best he offered.

You could tell he really liked the Indy roadsters - I've got the pink one (the Zink Special??), given to me by Edo...

Driving me crazy: can't remember the guy's name! He had a lot of cars on ebay, maybe about 10 years ago...

Here you go Tom  - it is indeed the John Zink Special; seems to be a resin body shell, not sure who made it. Same big Atlas motor, but I had to adjust the mechanicals a bit for it to run correctly...

Here's a bonus, an Agajanian roadster driven by Parnelli Jones' little known English brother, Dowton "Dow" Jones...

Don, that looks like it could be the Monogram Kurtis roadster model kit, not resin,

Nice cars Don. Thanks for posting the pics
Matt, if you handle the cars in person you would see that these are made from some kind of material other than plastic.
When I bought the car the guy also told me that he hand made everything on the cars except the motor and the tires....he even makes some of his own decals

Tom, not that it matters, but I am referring to the Kurtis K1000 that Don pictured.   It sure looks like the Monogram "Indy Racer" PC 00012 ( I think).   The suspension looks the same, actually everything on the body looks the same. .   There is a picture of the chassis and you can see  two  vertical supports at the rear of the body that are in the same location as the Kurtis kits I have that are un-built.   Resin casting that body is easy enough, but why when the model kits are available for a couple bucks.   Here are two built ups of the same kit.

Don's Watson looks like a vac body and the Dean Van Lines looks like either the AMT "Old Calhoun" kit or  a casting based on that kit.

Now that I look more closely at the body, Matt, you may well be right! It does have all the little bits on the inside, cut away as on a plastic model body.

I had remembered this as a resin casting, but that was a long time ago.

The Watson is a vac-form of course, and in fact I found it like that, with the exhaust pipe and painted... I just finished the detailing and did the driver, a very upright British gentleman!
