Thanks Dieter, I can always use additional source material. But it seems there is a dearth of information. I should try OWH

Wing cars evolved from near-scale cars.  Do you have something specific in mind?  Or the whole time-line of how they evolved?

A high-level timeline, milestones/events, and important figures would be a great start. I only plan a small section in my book.

The passage about New American tracks is comically inaccurate.

The best quick analogy I can up with, if the designer of the AMC Pacer, wrote a book "The History of Car Design", and used writing the book to claim he designed the Ferrari 250GTO.

Still looking for some help on wing car history. What could be considered the first big wing car race?

Instead of searching for "wing car", try searching for "Group 7", "Gp 7", or "G7". Group 7 evolved into what are now called wing cars, and as a result, the lesser classes (Gp 12, Gp 15, Gp 20, Gp 27) did too.

De. Is, I don’t think there could be any race considered the first big wing car GP7 race as the cars, bodies and spoilers were evolving race to race.

Jim HT had a good, detailed explanation, of the birth of full wings, in a thread here.

The search feature, here, works well.

I honestly don't have time to help you search.

I'm still recovering from finishing my 3rd party, this weekend.

Maybe just ask Jim HT, direct.
