ROUND NO.1

Some years back Don Siegal sent me a cuc with the 16D switched out and a 26D installed with the center chassis being modified. The body had a large opening cut out for the 26D to penetrate this opening.

A whole bunch of cuc's have under gone this modifications, thus destroying the body.

The following is a modification I made with out any modification to the other original cuc outer chassis.

This is the new center section, all original cuc rear iso pin, pick up guide are reused.

55.jpg

Installing the original rear iso hinge pin.

66.jpg

Iso pin installed.

ROUND NO.3

33.jpg

Clear cuc Tonneau cover  snapped in place.

88.jpg

A little paint work, not a perfect match, but it does get rid of that ugly hole in the body and provides enough vertical clearance for the 26D to occupy this space.

Going to make another  cuc Tonneau cover with a more colorful paint scheme.

I now have a 26D power cuc with a 26D under glass.

That was an awesome step by step of a solution to a common problem with that body.  Many of the ones that are passed over have that exact cutout in them.

Giving them a second life on the track so they can race again. I wonder if it could be done the same way for the bodies that had the rear fenders cut out for taller tires? I have a few bodies that are like that..

Its been a few years ago, (5 years +\-)

It had a stock 26D with a yellow end bell and chrome can.

If you would like you can send me one of those hacked cuc's , I'll try a rear slip over.  If this works the body can still be snapped on the original chassis.

This will be an experiment.  It will beat trashing a hacked original body.

thanks;  g;

I too have one of those cut-up-Cucs that I got on eBay some years back.

I was planning to make a special Crazy Cuc out of it and your Tonneau cover will work quire well.

I also inherited the rear fenders cut out as well and welcome your evolutionary solutions.

I still need to strip this ugly paint off!!!
