Fellas,

,

Nice turnout at last night's meeting, Rodney Steve and his buddy (who's name I forgot to ask) and myself. The hard bodied cars of Steve got a workout as he and his buddy ran the big track for over an hour warming up numerous rides that he brought along. One of the regular racers Carl, was on hand with his own hard bodied '65 FORD Fairlane and was mixing it up with our club guys, of course my camera was at home resting ...

The hard bodied cars are believe it or not, a throwback to the "golden age" of slot car racing. Monogram, Revell and many other companies offered hard plastic bodied slot cars "back in the day" and many folks cut their teeth on these beauties .

Most of the club guys do indeed have a few of the old hard bodied cars in their stash, some up and running  some in various stages of restoration. We may just see a few hard body cars both old and new making their way to the C.A.R.S. meetings !

I thought I'd include an older photo of Steve's "raft" of cars.
