Is that the track from the sadly now closed JD Model Raceway of Glen Burnie, Maryland?

:)

Brad is correct.

It is located in Lawrenceville, GA at the Sugerloaf Mills Mall (previously Discover Mills Mall).

Fun and frolic for the masses on mega-sized Mall plastic tracks discussed before...

Yes, I think so. As I understand it, J. D. Figoli (sp?) didn't really close the MD track, but relocated to the Atlanta area and reopened in that mall mentioned. Fading brain cells seem to think he came to Atlanta from the St. Louis area, but I may be wrong or maybe he made a stop the after MD.

I believe the raceway has been sold twice since J. D. owned it and it has moved around within the mall several times as well.

There's very little organized racing at Sling Shot, at least now to the best of my knowledge. It is basically run as an arcade, with controllers permanently attached to the track and with three different speed level cars, available for like $5, $6, and $7 per five minutes. The staff does all the marshaling for the racers.

On busy Saturdays in the mall, people (mostly kids) will be lined up to make runs.

Gregory Wells

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Ninco plastic track? A good one to take apart and reassemble two or three smaller tracks to get more drivers in use.
