Hi again,

I wanted to show you my newly built thingie, a fat boy body on a scratchbuilt chassis (PCB board + brass rod).

A few weeks ago I came across a ebay seller, who sold a lot of thingie bodies (aerodynamica, barchetta, choti, ...)

Unfortunately I missed the end of the auctions, so I only got two bodies from him, the fat boy and a hornet.

The fat boy is already on the track:

scratchbuilt chassis:

The hornet body (maybe someone knows, who produced the body)

greetings

Walter

Very nice! Any chance we could see more of the chassis?

Here's a quick picture of the chassis.

I'm not a soldering master, but I try.

Chassis needs to be cleaned.

good looking car.

What brand gear are you running and is it 48 pitch or 64?

Walter, I like it, nice build! Great looking car and chassis. PCB board is not that easy to work with. It takes some of practice toget it just right. If I may suggest using more soldering paste or acid (whichever one your using) and less solder and maybe tinning each piece before soldering together. That way you can join the pieces together more quickly an not heating up the glue holding the PCB board together. Doesn’t ask me how I know that LOL! Not trying to be critical just helpful.

@ Eddie: It's a sigma crown gear (M 0,5), it's "german standard" for 3 mm axles

@ Miko: thanks for your advices. I've done a lot more PCB chassis, which look better. But sometimes things don't work as they should.

Yes, Paul, it's true, The Hornet is a body by lancer, but this unit seems to be a repop, because I have the lancer one and it's very well factory cut.

And Canon issued the hornet with chassis from kal Kar and a hemi 400 motor.

Tha fat boy is nice!!!!

You bought the bodies on eBay, what was the return address?
If Tasmania, then it's George Hawkins.  He backpoured an old body to produce the Fat Boy and gave it that name.
Like your cars tho...

Hey Jairus,

We together produced one of these too, but don't remember who has it now!

Walter,

Nice build and well turned out!

It was a seller from germany, a well-known collector and ebay-seller.

I think, all the thingies he sold, were repops.
