With 13 entries, GT1-B was a strong field of contenders to take on the Royal at Fastraxx this November. Run in one seven racer main and one six racer main, it was clear that it would be a fight to the last heat.

Borrowing a body from long-time local John HumbergerAlex Stoudinger delivered a commanding win for his "car owner" with a 14 lap lead at the end! Certainly showcasing his home-track knowledge. Picking up his first ever OCC Podium and taking second by one panel was Dan Halfhill over an equally good showing by Danny Shirey. Fourth belonged to Keith Nelson IIwith Alan Gallacher bringing home fifth. The winning car owner, John Humberger, managed a good sixth place with his own equipment, while the youngest driver in the field, Jeffrey Henes, gained a seventh place to his name. Track owner Chris Earnhardt had eighth to his name over Haley Halfhill's ninth. Hollywood Joe Gerencser picked up tenth over Jim Bandes, while Nate Graham and Tom Rowell both experienced mechanical issues to come home twelfth and thirteenth respectively.

GT1-A was a packed ten-man round robin with careful driving being the premium on Fremont's Bullring.

Fourth after a string of bad luck was Jeff Henes, followed by Downriver's own David Decoster in fifth. Sixth belonged to Gil Pataky while Elmo Vallance came home in seventh. Eight was Ron Vincek who beat out Bob Kurkowski. Bringing up the rear with a badly chosen car was Justin Porter.

Nineteen Group 10s meant a nine and a ten racer round robin, two mains of 16D racing led off by Kujo Paws's electrifying TQ run.

When all nineteen heats were run, Elmo Vallance stood on top of the pile having a ten lap lead over second place Eric Shirey. Third was a surprise as Keith Nelson II pulled off a good clean run in traffic. Fourth belonged to Justin Porter over Ron Vincek in fifth. David Decoster brought home his car in sixth over Alex StoudingerDanny Shirey's late night ride gave him an eighth place finish over Bob Kurkowski in ninth and Jeff Henes rounded out the top ten. Eleventh meant an improved day for John Humberger while Dan Halfhill also continues to get a handle on the tricky G10 cars in twelfth. Alan Gallacher was thirteenth on the field over TR RowellJames Ellis Pace Jr.ran into problems late and finished in fifteenth over Haley Halfhill's sixteenth place run. Nate Graham, Chris Earnhardt, and Joe Gerencser rounded out the field with difficult runs in seventeenth, eighteenth, and nineteenth.

GTP had an absolutely tremendous twenty car field, resulting in two ten-racer round robin mains. James Ellis Pace Jr. started the day out with the Top Qualifier spot, edging out Elmo by only .007!

When race time rolled around, it was the traditional "jet fighters in a gymnasium" GTP race with Elmo Vallance scoring the win. Not even the winner was spared in the high-speed carnage as with mere seconds to go his lead wire broke! Second belonged to Ron Vincek who drove with extreme caution throughout the day. Third, out of the B-main and having to leave early for work was Alex Stoudinger in a Vincek loaner. Fourth by panels was Dan Halfhill over Rob Voska in fifth. Sixth was also decided by panels, with TQ Jim Pace Jr. beating out Justin Porter. For eighth, John Humberger had a great run with Keith Nelson II in ninth and Danny Shireyrounding out the top ten. Eleventh after major body damage was Jeff Heneswho beat out David Decoster, while the usually dominant Kujo Paws battled mechanical gremlins for a thirteenth place finish. Alan Gallacher held down the fourteenth place spot over Haley Halfhill in fifteenth and Jeffrey Henes in sixteenth after yet another A main qualifying effort. Joe Gerencser brought home seventeenth, and Chris Earnhardt managed an eighteenth place run, with mechanical issues bringing down Nate Graham and Tom Rowell.

Justin, very good report and thanks to the OCC for letting us host your event. Special thanks to all those who raced and attended. Thank you kindly Chris and thank you and your team for hosting the Ohio Challenge Cup. The Royal always puts together some surprises and it's one of the most anticipated stops on the tour for most everyone. You should be very proud too of the increase in entries. 63 entries this year, up from 54 last year!
