Chas Beeman, who posts here regularly, went, as he along with others from St. Louis, visited me on Saturday.

I'm going to edit the title of this thread, with the correct town, the show is in.

Yes, I went.  I think table count was up a bit, attendance was up a bit, and Saturday evening room trading at the Comfort Inn was up a bit.  Al is doing a great job organizing and advertising, and still lots of interest out there.  I'm guessing show was 70/30 HO to large scales, but still many things to choose from (vintage-modern-new-used).  Nobody really letting stuff go cheap as it's easy to now find prior sale values online, but things were there to be had.

I'll be at the swap meet in Indianapolis this Saturday and in St Louis for the swap meet the Sunday of Thanksgiving, but I also know there are shows coming in Parsippany and Milwaukee.  I wish I could be at all of them, but I get to my share...

I just saw this post rather late. As far as show , it's always a good time but as Brad had stated 70/ 30 ho to larger scales. I saw no D3 chassis and very little flexi mdse. The guys from Thazer raceway had some current commercial flexi stuff but not alot. I only found a few bodies, gears, and 1 c can setup. Overall less selection of the large scale stuff that's currently being run.

Where can we get the dates for all the slot car swap meets?

That is a great question- as far as I know, there is no unified source or calendar of all slot car related events (including swap meets). It's been proposed that one be created several times- but IMO there has been a lack of enthusiasm to support the effort that it would take to create and update it.

I am aware of most because I travel to most!  Several years ago I maintained a webpage, but as has been said it's a lot of work to update.  Have thought about doing it on the Professor Motor Facebook events area, as much for myself as anyone.  Could also then link to each swap meet's pages.  I do make an entry here on Slotblog's events forum for the swap meet I organize in Detroit.

Perhaps it's best for anyone who knows a show/date to make the post here.  If I remember right there isn't really a "shows" area, it's a "races" area.  Not sure if it shows a nice calendar.

Greg, would a new Swap Meets forum make sense?  I promise to update what I know!

They must be happening around the US and other countries as well.  I usually find references to Milwaukee,Ohio, Michigan and Indiana either after the fact or too late to organize cash and carpooling.

I usually get to shows in:

Highland, IN (we still call it Chicago, or Dolton, or ...)

St Louis, MO (Kirkwood)

Cleveland, OH (Richfield)

Milwaukee, WI

Indianapolis, IN

Parsippany, NJ

Long Island, NY (Bob Beers' Super Bowl Sunday show, and I'm going again this time)

Canton, MI (Detroit)

Baltimore, MA (White Marsh)

Morgantown, PA

and I know I'm still forgetting a few.  For shows in Europe the best place for Info is Phil Smith's (the UK Phil) website under events (www.philsmith.co.uk).  He logs more weekends for swapmeets than I do, but I think I've got him on miles traveled as I also come over for Slotmania in Germany and the vintage races in Bordeaux and occasionally Roncole, Italy.

What we put ourselves through for these crazy little toy cars!

We had the first time show In Louisville this year and I posted info on it a month or so ahead.   I will do the same  for 2018.   The show will be at the same location and  the date has been set.   I will post that info later.
