Many raceways have had the benefit of multiple business under one roof. Coffee shop/ice cream/pizza parlor on a highway could not hurt to pay the rent all year along with the slot recreation.

Hang a few ceiling fans to help reduce the heat bills along with upgrading the lighting to LED - before the tracks are in place.

Ice cream shoppe addition has been talked about.

As Larry mentioned, there is so much to do before we can even set up the tracks. Very busy week ahead of me.

I had a chance to drive from Durango to Denver and the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forrest contain some of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen in the United States. Talk about outdoor activity. I could see spending a lot more time around Durango.

Wow, another King track... woohoo! Glory days from the '70s racing back and forth from KCMO up to Parma, OH. And chasing the Champion Series (et al). Already got a few wing cars chomping at the bit. Can't wait for my six-year old autistic son to get bitten with the bug. He loooves race cars!

We are half done on everything, which means we have finished nothing, LOL.

I will post pictures on Monday of the current progress. Thus far we have put down 49 gallons of paint on the walls alone, Restored over 20 8-foot lights, spent 28 hours putting down 60 gallons of stripper to remove the carpet glue off the VCT tile. We found out that mosquito eggs can stay dormant for a very long time and hatch with moisture. I would never have believed it until we were swarmed for a week by newly-hatched mosquitoes in 35-40 degree weather from our fresh paint hitting very old and dry fiber board/paneling. Every little thing we do always makes a huge improvement!

You know I was very reluctant about this for a very long time. I always questioned if it was worth it, why put all the time and resources into something that at the time I felt most would not appreciate. I was dead wrong! The help I have received has been overwhelming. It has been an experience that makes the sinus infection from all the stripper worth it, lol. Paul Murr, Alan Wilkinson, Rodney Leffler, Rowdy, Dale Gritzmacher, Kevin Mahever, Allen Reeder, Cooper Sheldon have been the glue that have kept this deal moving forward. None of this would have been possible without their help, none of it!

You got a sinus infection from the strippers? There's a joke in there somewhere...

Matt, with your Autistic program have you applied for any funding? I know it would be available in Europe but not sure in Colorado.

Matt, I came down from DTown last Sat to race in Pueblo with Kevin, Paul, and Gus. I raced under my musician nickname "Swinger Kelley."

Can you give me a snapshot of what the autistic program for the kiddos at Dusty's entails?

Cant wait for the opening! I used to race at Slot Car Speedway in Loveland, then followed those tracks to Longmont. Don't know what happened to them? I live in Loveland and work in LaSalle so it's going to be my after work hangout! I drive by the location several times a day and keep looking to see if there is any activity inside.

Looking forward to meeting you and blowing the dust off my cars and getting back in the groove!
