Race #7 of our Le Mans GT series was run on our Engelman in team format (odd driver runs solo). Five-minute heats were run in European rotation.
Once again the top-three teams fought to the end. After forty minutes of racing, first through third places were separated by just 8 laps. Dana and Ken kept the quickest pace and pulled out the win. Cole, the VP's newcomer, continues to improve and placed third together with Wayne.
This is a great series which has witnessed some of the closest racing in recent memory. Even though many bodies are legal, the series has settled down to a Saleen vs. Maserati match.
Here are the results:
1. Dana Ellis and Ken Holland; 435 laps
2. Tommy Davidson and Alan Young; 431
3. Wayne Nipper and Cole Jackson; 427
4. Mark Laux and Keith Bernstein; 422
5. Michael Hutto and Joshua Hutto; 400
6. Robert Lively; 380
Fastest Heat: Wayne on the blue lane at 4.967 secs!
Top heat: Teams 1 and 3 (above) ran 57 laps!
