The Royal in Bordo - an original 60s model, refurbished about 20 years ago.

I remember running on a Black many years ago in Seattle, at Jack's Greenwood Raceway(?). Can't remember if it was flat or not...

Actually, on the Bordo track, where we run reverse direction also (right to left from the drivers' panel), I would have preferred mostly flat, with maybe just the one banked turn...

Everyone is talking about running the Black tracks 'backwards'. We never thought that back in the '60's!! Its's a King track syndrome I guess!

In the case of the banked Black, it makes sense, as common sense would have one think you want to run down the long straight, into a banked turn.

In 2005, before Retro, we raced the Red Fox inline F1 cars.

One night, Sano Dave and I ran one backwards on the King.

After about a half hour, we were turning times, as fast, as running it in the normal direction.

But that was on Orange.

Running Black probably would of been bit more of a challenge.

Still have my American Regal "Black" track.  Always ran down the donut.  It was extremely fast and challenging.  WIsh I could find a place to set it up again.

We have run the Royal at Modelville in both directions. I can say the racing is better running clockwise.

A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.

I can't say for sure but it looks like they may be running reverse of normal direction?

I agree with that. Rear wheels are to the right, front wheels to the left, car moving from right to left = reverse!

Went to Buzz-A-Rama today; kids wanted to go on the black track.

Had a great time.

Buzz said that when the track was new the sections were set up to go clockwise.

Since Buz-A-Rama is kind of an institution to slot racers and the oldest continually operating track in America (world?), it might be worthwhile for one of you local guys to take some nice pictures of the store, tracks and general layout.   If that is OK with Buzz, I'm sure other guys would like to see the complete store in detail.
