I'm going to post this again. Pretty much disproves a lot of what has been claimed as absolute fact in hundreds of posts here and on Fakebook.

Race results from last race at Port Jeff Raceway

Stock Car     fast lap   total      motor
1st      Dom    4.501  310.01    R
2nd  X-Pro     4.546   309.13    7R
3rd  Chubby   4,526   305.16    7R

Can-Am
1st  Chubby  3.863     360.02   7R
2nd  X-Pro    3.862     359.07   7R
3rd  Edsel     3.915     358         R

Apples to apples.
No bananas.

post the results of retropalooza. There were no 7Rs making the cut that day. (Atleast in my box)

What is the record at port Jeff for total laps and best time?

I believe a 7R7R7R got TQ and set track record in can-am at the Fall Brawl.
Test, test, test and go test some more.
You're never fast enough!!! 💯

Can I please have 10 more minutes of practice? I know I've had all day but I need more...😉

Results and their comparisons are only valid on that race day under those track conditions. If the 7Rs were slower than the Rs, how did the results from that day pan out?

Let's face it. The motors all have the same wind and timing specs. Any changes to magnets, brushes, wire used, endbell construction etc. are up the the cards dealt by Chinese Quality Control.

"Chinese Quality Control". Boy, if that ain't an oxymoron I don't know what is.

What is the record at port Jeff for total laps and best time?

At Retropalooza, I qualified second with a 7r and finished 4th.

At the Fall Brawl, I qualified 12th and made the moveup to the A and finished 4th, with the same 7r in both the B and A mains.

However, at both Retropalooza and the Fall Brawl I felt out motored by the cars that finished ahead of me in both races. All of which had older R motors.

as a person who has shipped 1000s of tires from Taiwan, this not true. Quality control should and can be done in China AND when the product arrives in the states.

People who make these statements have not imported any items overseas.

I have imported motors from China for years. Their QC can be suspect at times.

agreed, it is up to the buyer to make sure they are getting what they pay for. We sent an entire crate back one time because the tires were softer than our standard. We lost money on that shipment but all future orders were up to spec.

I have serviced machines from china that were sent as replacements under warranty. They didn't even want the original one back. It seemed as if product went direct from end of assembly line to shipping. If there was a problem, they just sent you another one.

So Tim sends back all the motors....supply dries up. Racer's heads start exploding. People start price gouging their old stock.(Not Swiss), racers screaming the world is ending. Next batch shows up but are a few tenths faster. Racers scream that their old motors they paid ransom bucks for are now obsolete. This will never end. I agree with Charlie 100% on this.

If I’m not mistaken, the first “batch” of 7Rs were good. It’s the latest bunch that is suspect. Those motors from The Port Jeff results could or could not be from the latest batch.

Either way, it’s a crappy situation for racers and organizations that use the motor. Glad I’m not in charge to make any decision on what to do.

SamIam you are so right Apples to Apples comparison out of the batches of motor of course it going to be some bad apples but the majority of them are good
I do not know why the attack on a manufacturer a $14 motor is a $14 motor I think that's a fair price to enjoy the sport you grew up with and a fair price for someone new to invest in without being gouged Believe It or Not between JK proslot and other companies that offer low price Motors is what's keeping this sport or hobby going of course we're going to have a few bad ones but it's not a problem considering what we used to pay for Motors and then still had to fix them to make them the way wanted

It looks like there is a problem with the newer batch motors.

GRRR series that uses IRRA rules and has an IRRA BoD member deemed the 7R7R7R motor as only legal JK motor in Can-am this New Year.

Look at the GRRR racing region rules.

Looks like there has been a motor problem after all.

I also know Tony and company are doing their best with this motor situation.

Either way I'm racing and willing to take the good with the bad. Let's go racing!

Most racers feel that the older Jk motors are faster in a lot of cases than the new ones. Most likely due to a brush material change Tim had nothing to do with. To keep The Majority of the GRRR racers who have no older motors from getting disgusted running against them we went with the 7r only in canam for now and 7r for all classes in the second half of the season.
