Yesterday, I was asked by 3 or 4 racers about next years rules and when would they be published. Since all directors haven't all given their final agreement, the 2018 rules can not be published. However, I will list the major changes for 2018.

1) The race season will be broken out to 2 seasons, a Spring championship and a Fall championship. 6 races in each season; 2 each race track. Drop 1 race.

2) The JK Indy Car class is being dropped from 2018. We will run, 4" NASCAR, LMP, and GTP.

3) If we have 13 or more entries, we will qualify; 60 seconds, fast lap. There will be no move-ups. All mains will be combined for the final placements.

4) We will maintain the two driver group designation.

5) The max chassis and rear track width will be 83mm.

6) The max body width is 84mm.

7) The LMP car class is being opened up to all manufacturers. The approved body list includes something like 12 JK bodies,, 10 Red Fox bodies, and 2 or 3 Parma bodies. There are some Red Fox bodies that look very cool.

8) We have an approved chassis list that must be run. All current JK and Mossetti chassis are on the list, along with the older Champion/Parma T-flex chassis.

9) There is an approved body listing for each car class.

EDIT: 10) There are no "combo races" in 2018.

The tentative 2018 schedule is:

Attached File  Tentative 2018 FSCS Schedule.pdf   88.03KB   130 downloads

Are there any questions?

I also want to point out that since the factory JK Hawk 6 motor comes with wrapped commutators, wrapped commutators are legal. So, you can now send out your current unwrapped arms and get them wrapped and then balanced.

Since the Hawk 7 has had the comm wrapped for about 2 to 3 years, there is no need to wrap it. Besides, the H7 is a sealed motor; illegal to tamper with it in any way.

In the topic "New 2018 FSCS rules" (here's the link):

http://slotblog.net/...018-fscs-rules/

the third line of the post is a link to the PDF version of the rules.

I want to download the PDF file but when I click on the link, it takes me to:

which says "Sorry, you don't have permission for that!"

I'm using Google Chrome.

Can someone else try it and see if it works for you?

Guys, I was made aware of this probem a day or so ago and have been trying to figure out what the probem is, to no avail so far.

I'll get this fixed as soon as I can.

OK, I reattached the PDF to the first post and it seems to be working now.

Can someone who was having probems downloading it please try it again and report here?

Question for an FSCS Director,

The GTP rules say

----------------------------------
"Interior
Interior may be molded plastic, Mylar, Lexan or paper."

----------------------------------

Does that mean molded plastic, molded Mylar, molded Lexan, or molded paper?

In other words, does the interior have to be 3D?

Dale, good question.

With having no discussion with any other director, I know that over the years a stick-on paper driver was acceptable. We have never discussed that that set-up would be illegal now.

Just my personal opinion.

Dale:

In my opinion, I would say that virtually any interior that covers the chassis would be acceptable, and that includes flat 2d printed paper ones.

FSCS BoD,

The only rules that I know of, regarding the DTM class, are at this post:  http://slotblog.net/...ments/?p=721523

As far as the DTM front bumper, is the rule going to be like the GTP bumper rule "must maintain the turn-down in front and rear".

And is the DTM rear bumper rule going to be "1/8 minimum"?

Also, is it safe to assume that 2D interiors will be allowed in the DTM class like they are in the GTP class?

No, The interior for DTM is the same that we use in NASCAR. 3D molded full interior. I thought that this was obvious to everybody.

Below is a 1-page rules Quick Reference guide that I made.  It summarizes the rules, including the new DTM class, and also contains the approved chassis and bodies lists for all classes.  I keep a print out of it in my pit box and find it helpful from time to time.

The FSCS rules were updated on July 5th to include the DTM class.  Click here to go to the post where you can download the complete updated rules.

By the way, the Quick Ref Guide and the full FSCS Rules PDF files were e-mailed to the 54 racers on my P1/FSCS e-mail list.

I just wanted to point that out in case anyone might be judging the response to those items, based on the number of downloads from Slotblog.

If anyone wants to be on the e-mail list, PM me.

When I send e-mails, I send them to myself and bcc the racers so nobody sees the racer's e-mail addresses.
