I thought it was called a "JAD". It was their version of an iso chassis and they sold Canam or F1 cars with that chassis.

Thank you for your help! When I saw this thread last night, I'm not much of a vintage expert, but JAD popped into my mind and that's how I confirmed it was a Gator.
JAD refers more to that series, or sub- brand of cars.

It's all a tiny bit confusing because in other spots on the LASCM sight, it's referred to as the Jad chassis.
The acronym JAD, stands for joint application design.

Jad was an affiliate of Riggen Manufacturing Co. I learned that from the box, which also says, "Designed and developed by Riggen Research and Development."
Not only that, but on the box it's called the "Famous GATER CHASSIS", with an "e"...
Philippe has probably given a more specific history of Jad somewhere on this site: I think it was basically another design team, affiliated with Riggen, that used some of their parts.
The Gater chassis came in both a black anodized version and an "Economy" plain aluminum version...

In my 67 Autoworld catalog they call it the "Jad" series with "gater" chassis.

They call it the Gator because of the Iso movement. But yes it is a Jad-Riggen.
