1968 Eldon Dodge 3 in 1 Road Race Set

The set has all of the items that it came with except that the instructions and decal set were misplaced many years ago and I have no idea why they would've been removed from the box. This set even has the funky-looking screwdriver and a list of Eldon service places across the country, so I really am puzzled as to why the decals and instruction sheets are missing.
I had the set out of storage today and installed new tires on the cars so I took a few pictures. I did keep the original tires also, but they are cracked and hard. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the pics.

Beautiful! That's probably the nicest set Eldon ever made, and the nicest one I've ever seen.

Your post brought back a lot of great memories!!
I have the same set from when my Dad bought a '68 Charger at the old Massey Dodge on Philips Highway in Jacksonville. My box isn't in as good of condition as yours is thanks to a puppy we had that had a cardboard fetish. And, my cars aren't as pristine as yours due to hard use -- I was 9! I remember putting some of my Mom's baby powder on the track so the cars would slide around like they did at the local dirt track.
I also have an Eldon road course set from about 1964 that is what set my still-going enjoyment of playing with toy cars in motion. Amazingly ..... there was never a single argument about motors.

Glad to bring back good memories for ya. I configured the track more like it should be with the over and under. I put the tunnel jump thing under the bridge for added support for how I had it configured. The set works great. I realized today that the last time I set it up was in 1998. So, that makes it a 50 year old set that was last played with 20 yeares ago!!! Amazing, all I have done is replace the tires, oil the motors a little and tinker with the pick up braids and got it working great!!!
Here are more pictures.

They also manufactured pretty nice-looking bodies, you cars are pretty nice. Not sure if they are true scale, but they look much better than lots of offerings from other companies. Their Camaro, Mustang, and '66 Charger are nice. The 1/24 cars from the Indy 8 really aren't bad either. The Lotus and the Watson can both be modeled into attractive cars.

Haha, yep, been driving my wife crazy having this all set up in the living room floor!!! My 7 and 9 year old nieces came over and played with the cars for a couple of hours and they said it was fun. One of them even got a car to go up the ramp, hit the clown on two wheels and then the car fell back into the slot and continued on, it was amazing!!! Today I set up the tunnel jump, played a little while and then took it all down, cleaned everything and boxed it all back up for a while. I've got to find some new pick up braids because the old ones are worn out now. Good times!!!That is a really nice set, probably the nicest Eldon I have seen. Eldon was a bargain brand, but in reality, their stuff was OK and better than Strombecker. Most of the old Eldon cars can get new tires and run as new. They never had the design flaws like Strombecker had with their early cars. Their first series of cars with a separate frame were good enough to never need a re-design.
