That is not the raceway I am looking for. There is a another track going up here in San Diego. Thanks.
The New raceway will have a Gerding King and the flat track formerly in Santa Clarita and before that Yorba Linda.

When you find out more info on it, please post. I've got some free time and upland season is coming to a close, so...
Love that track. The "Beast" lives!

Thanks Tim for posting pic of The Beast flat track. Heard it was a handful compared to the Flat track at BPR.

It is an Ogilvie King. It is the King that was down there right near the border last year. Gary Gerding updated the wiring on both tracks and Joe Chevy put them together. I talked to Joe about the lead on for the King and he said he cranked it and it should not be a problem. For those of you that don't know Joe, he has worked on a few tracks that had issues and he fixed them up just fine.
The track is located at 4178 Cartajena Dr., San Diego 92115. Apparently not to far from the old football and baseball stadium.
On Jan 20 Joe will open the doors for a test and tune day. It's not an official opening, just a chance for us to see what the tracks are all about and for him to make sure that the tracks don't have any issues.
He is having trouble with the city getting a permit to work on the bathrooms, so he has rented a porta potty and will have bottles of hand sanitizers. Real bathrooms will be available across the parking lot.
There will be at least an LMP race on the flat track. Flexis, Hawk 7s and stepped wing bodies like the Red Fox Audis and Accuras and JK BMW. 3 on 2 off
He hopes we can also run a Grp F race on the King, (FKs only) but there is almost no lighting in that section of the building as of today.
Both tracks are wired and count laps and he should have enough pit space for at least 20, two guys to an 8 foot table. So if we need to we can crowd it up some.
The flat track is a power supply and the King is a power supply with battery. I think he said he had them set for 13.2, but not sure about that.

My Buddy Stu went down there on Saturday and practiced on the flat track. He had lots of good things to say about it.
We raced on that track for the entire couple of years it was in Santa Clarita. It's a very challenging track but very nice and fun to race on. Yes, it is a tougher track in my humble opinion than the flat track at BPR. I've raced at the BPR track maybe 3 or 4 times and I like it, but I don't think it's as challenging as this track.
Santa Clarita was 45 miles for me and now I'll have to travel about 180 miles to race there, so it wont be every weekend. I will still be making that trip in occasion.

That track looks a lot like the one that was used for the 2002? ISRA World Championship held in/near San Francisco.
If this is the track I'm thinking of I believe it was first located in the Modesto-Merced area in the late 90's or early 2000's.
I love flat tracks but I have to say if it is indeed the same track it's one of the toughest I've ever driven on.
