I used to collect HotWheels and NASCAR diecast cars many years ago. One of my favorite places to search for old HotWheels cars was the thrift store. One time at the thrift store I came across these HO scale slot cars. I remember picking up this sandwich baggie that had cars in it and I saw the Harry Gant car and thought, "Skoal Bandit, they don't put advertising like that on kids diecast cars"!!! Of course I was excited when I saw that it was actually a slot car, it was mixed in with several crappy diecast cars. I think I paid about 2 bucks for the whole baggie. After finding that one, I searched around and found the Richard Petty car, and all the other cars pictured, in baggies with some diecast cars as well. After playing with my old Eldon set, (see post in vintage 1/32), I decided to dig these out. They've been in a box of collectable cars, wrapped up individually in tissue paper. I'm not sure if these qualify as vintage, given the bodies, they must be from the early 80's. The Buick bodied cars have really nice rubber tires, but the Corvette cars have foam rear tires that have deteriorated a bit. Anyhoo, here they are.
