Couple of chassis I just built up for upcoming Retro race series at Dallas Slot Cars in Garland, TX. Have built up a few chassis for my garage track in the recent years but nothing to race since the early 90's.  Hope one of them works on the flat track.. Now off to build up a couple F1's

Forgot to give credit to Jim Fowler for his help and advice, The bottom chassis is a close copy of one of his builds.

Look great!

The second one appears to be a combination steel and brass rods. Don Weaver built one like that for me, and I must admit that it actually feels different. It handles quite nicely. I think you'll have a similar experience with yours.

Good racing!

Yes it is brass and steel .047. I have a routed 3 lane 55ft garage track and the handling was great. Beat  my previous best time by .3 sec.  It's based off a Jim Fowler design.

Hey Gary,  the chassis look great.  Hope to see you at DSC soon.  There's a retro series staring this month, the first of 6 races from Jan - June.  Should be great fun.

Terrific jobs, Gary..

By the solder mark's on some of the pin tubes, I bet you hold them down like I do, with a screwdriver, or similar, with a "V" cut in the blade.

I sure do Mike..Took an old screwdriver and filed a notch in the blade.. BTW, really like the way your 2 degree guide installed on one of the chassis. Anxious to give it a try vs the homegrown "approx" 2 degree guide I soldered up on the other chassis.
