As time permits- I will post scans of old slot race reports from various sources. I will show or post the name and date of the magazine scanned from if known.

 

Clicking on the image usually gives a slightly larger and clearer photo.

 

In most cases these are old scans- they are what they are. Some scans have missing information that would be nice to have- if I had the magazine I would re-scan them but if there are imperfections, this means that I do not have the magazine.

 

"Rants" that seem to my eyes to be off topic will be removed.

 

I cannot answer questions about the event or the photos of the cars in most cases. It is OK to ask "Does anyone know...?" if you wish. Please try to be as specific with your questions as possible- giving the event name and year is helpful.

Although this is not a 'race report' it is a 'raceway report' giving a great deal of information about the state of commercial raceways in the early to mid 1960's.

Wow, post #5 gave me a blast from my past. The track at Hobby Mart in Hialeah, FL was where I spent time every year when I visited relatives who lived in town. I haven't seen that track in probably 50 years but I recognized it instantly.

Post #4 above makes reference to the big race held in November of 1965 won by Joe DeHalle. Joe has been the subject of some behind the scenes controversy where I have proposed he be added to the list of Western States winners, several parties have agreed with me via PM's that Joe should be so honored. There is opposition from a CA racer to the late Joe DeHalle from receiving this honor as he was not part of the "Golden Era" or part of the popular CA group, his crime? Being a Phoenician, yes, Arizonan.

 

See posts by others of race details where you will see that Joe won a new Triumph Spitfire, unfortunately it was the car he died in. Please support this racer being added to the list of Western States winners; fair is fair.

Thanks for the reports.  I see my brother's name listed, in the NY Arco 33.  He did very well, considering getting slammed into the wall during practice.  For some reason, the wall incident turned my brother's car, into a rocket.  A young looking Mr. P is featured, in the Holiday Raceway report.  My car was fairly good.  But, it got a lot better after Noose lent me a "handling" body.  Helen still kicked everyone's butts.  Thanks, Joe ..

Looking for the race info on a Car Model sponsored race held in Hatboro PA (northeast of Philadelphia) at a track called Billiard Ball raceway (yes, they also had pool tables).

Im guessing late 60s. The race was won by Jerry Brady.
