Interesting. So many of the early Miatas rusted out, this is a good way to keep them running. I like the Ferrari 250 SWB

copy. Not exactly right, but a good representation.

The Mustang idea is cool, too. There is a Chevy smallblock-into-Miata conversion. It's called the Monster Miata. A

guy brought one to Blackhawk Farms several years ago for an open track day. The thing was blindingly fast on the

straights, but he had to haul it way down to make the turns. The car wanted to go straight when you would much

prefer it go in the direction the front wheels were pointed.

The true original Monster Miata's built by Monster Motorsports were built with Ford V8's because they were much smaller then  the Chevy V8's size wise. They used T5 transmissions and RX7 rear ends.

Ralph, you are probably right. Makes sense. But the one at Blackhawk was definately an SBC. I saw it. Plus

it had the Monster Miata sticker inside the hood. Recently I heard a story that someone had put an LS-6

in one. That would just be plain overkill. Like the Boss Hoss.
