I saw this tag on another post and I wonder if anyone has one of these F1 bodies? I am curious what it looks like.

F1 or Stock Car? The tag says Ford Stock Car.

A motor is only as fast as the chassis it's in.

I'm looking at the 916 body on the tag, the Stewart Tyrrell F1. I have never seen one.

The Tyrrell (#916) and Matra (#917) were originally MAC bodies that were developed  to allow the use of anglewinder style chassis under them.  They were extra wide.

I think there was a third F1 body from this series, but I don't recall what it was.  It would be nice if they were available again.

Matra Body

Electric Dreams still has the Matra Body listed, but the Tyrrell is not shown.  I remember it though.  It literally could double for a door stop.

I would love to get a hold of a couple of the Matra's.  I always thought they were cool looking slotcar bodies.

( I tried to include a link, but it didn't make the transition.)

If the Matra catches your eye I checked with Electric Dreams and they have plenty. I’m going to order some...

Racer36:

If you go to Electric Dreams website click to the "Vintage Bodies1/24 Scale " section.  The Matra body is MAC-V01.

Because I have the body (somewhere) would someone be kind enough to post a pic of the anglewinder chassis that would be under one of the above Matra bodies ?

Back in the day Phase III actually made angle winder F1 chassis.  As I recall they were like $7.95 or $8.95.  Not sure how they would fit under this body.

I think at the end of the day a chassis for this body is gong to be a scratch built challenge and project.  That's a good thing....

I am guessing that it was the "008" body rather than the 6-wheeler.

MG Brown:  That's the Matra Simca.  I tried post to any number of photos of it, but the website didn't allow the transfer of photos and/or links.  Just sayin'.

Yeah, I agree.  The Matra and I have painted a couple of those.

Apparently I have the photo mis-labeled, my apology.

Depending on what computer operating system you are using- screen capture is always a working option for photo capture and transfer.
