Since I'm on a video kick lately, here is a link to a video I uploaded to YouTube that I shot of the 1993 Worlds held at Boogie Speedway in Jackson, MI. Kinda fun to watch these old videos.

Unfortunately several guys in this video have passed on. May they rest in peace.

Hope you guys enjoy the video.

Regards,

The Sawdust Man

Orange Tires, Long Braid, Steel Chassis, Lancia Bodies, NO Glue Rollers, A lot of Gear Noise, Flat Turns, and No Electronic Controllers.
How in the hell did we manage to get around the track then??

From the looks of the video I would answer "badly".

Les, You call these turns flat?

I think I don't want to see the tracks you are racing on!

Thanks for sharing this video! :good:

Thanks for posting!

I attended this race, was 18 at the time. I finished somewhere in the International 15 A-main. It was a decent turnout, I remember having to work my way up through a few rounds of semis to get there.

Just having fun with you guys . LOL

I remember 3 things from the race(unless it was another race in Jackson-LOL)

Jan Limpach was there, and I'm pretty sure raced.

The lap counter didn't always work on Yellow.

Spove had his cool, brown, early 911 there.

Steve; Great to see you're still keeping track of slot racing. We miss you in this area.

A lot of track calls in that race.

I see Wayne Bramble in the race.

Brings back memories, I used to race with him when I was a kid and he popped up for a 4 hour CAM-AM retro enduro with Cody last year.

Didn't Wayne own a raceway somewhere in Australia? I think I recall an old retro race report.

Wayne has owned or managed lots of slot car raceways in Australia, I know of 4 but it's probably more.

Swiss, those glasses and you had hair! And Stu's fixation on that hideous gold color paint. You know, we all thought that the cars were so fast, now it looks like a Group 12 race!

After watching again, I see no Alpha or ProSlot presence. Since this is in their backyard, this is a bit surprising. Were they out of it by then for Pro racing?
