Must speak a different language in Tenn. It says "all Premier events." The way I read it that would include the R4.

Yes, in the Can-Am and F1 classes. Professor Motors will be the hand-outs in the Coupe class

Professor Motor hand-outs, I like it.

Will there be PM motors for sale at the warm-up?

Interesting to know if the existing batch of short shaft motors now being sold by JK Products are part of the inventory of older batch of motors manufactured prior to the recent complaints of the so called "two-speed" 7R motor batch.

If these short shaft motors are from the older batch run at the Checkpoint Cup, I'll ask Debbie to order some for the raceway.

Tim,

As an SCRRA racer, you should have a pretty good idea how they run.

Their success, as the hand-out at the Checkpoint Cup, certainly was a major factor in them getting my vote for approval.

Bryan and I communicate quite often, and he mentioned that was very few issues with these motors at the Checkpoint.

As far as the Hawk 7 arm swap theory, I'll reiterate what I already stated in the Checkpoint CanAm report thread.

It is very easy to spot Hawk 7 performance, when on the track, running against Retro Hawks. I don't think we will see any at any premier events.

I doubt anyone will risk being the first racer to have his motor protested, taking their one-year ban, and being exposed as a cheat/schmoe.

Thanks, Mike. I don't think anyone out our way is thinking about an arm swap. Just want fast consistent motors if possible.

Any idea what the inventory remaining is on these 7R short shaft motors?

Adequate enough that we appoved them.

It's been legal to run the short shaft in the SCRRA, in the monthly races from day one.

I'm pretty sure the Short shaft 7R motor was not legal from day one, as Bryan was not in favor of them as evidenced by his post #29 in this LINK.

Finally, these motors disappeared for some time off the JK Products catalog, raceways, and online distributors until just recently. They simply weren't available for purchase and most racers did not have an old one sitting around in their box to even think about "running a Hawk 7 arm."

I'm glad these motors are now legal and JK Products can recoup the investment they made in manufacturing them.

I was mistaken about "day one."

Bryan's post, explaining it:

"Also, cutting shafts and the short shaft M28s have been legal out here for a while in all of our monthly races so these motors aren't just limited to this one event; we can run them all year long."

Aren't the short shaft RHs engraved so that passing off a H7 would be difficult?
