Most of this I believe is centered around spec tires and rules coming more in line with the World rules set. It's a shame that the roughly 75 Wing car racers in the country can't get together for a yearly race and agree on a rule set.

It is a shame... but typical of slot racing in general (this side of the big pond, anyway).

Deposed despots usually have their heads posted on a pole in front of the castle. Where is Vlad when you need a good old fashioned shot of horror? Boycott the deposed parties and maybe their ilk will wither away.

Eddie,
I see your F1 race, and raise you the 2001 Geezer Race at the USRA Nat's at Port Jeff Raceway.
I win.
While I ate my wife's awesome turkey chili, last night, I watched a little bit of Ralph and Ron's Between the Lanes.
Ron, as the unofficial USRA historian, and Roger's apparent "official" USRA mouthpiece, I expected him to just admonish the coup d'état and defend the USRA.
Instead, the more he talked, the more he brought up all the ambiguities in the rules, and how the democracy isn't very democratic.
In a nutshell, in the 5-10 minutes, I watched, he made it clear the USRA procedures suck.
Some Ron nuggets;
"Is this something that needs to be changed?" (IOW, if the BoD doesn't think it needs to be changed, or doesn't want it changed, they can decide a rules proposal won't go up for a vote.)
"And that, that's kind of a screwed up thing."
"And I have a problem with that. And I always had a problem with that."
"And so, so the whole voting thing is a messed up deal... any way you look at it."

I completely agree things need to change but I dont think this was the way to go about it.The lack of organization and forethought in this coup or separation is quite apparent. Had they waited for the Nats, got rules and bylaws in order to address the problems and did something then this most likely would have worked in the best interest of racing. As wing racer i hate to say it but its looking like its just dividing the few of us left even more.
It seems now,its probably safe to assume that lawyers are involved or at least the threat of legal actions have been taken. They posted a name change and Buef is no longer part of the "new BOD" as of now.
Mike or anyone else know if a Nats bid is a legally binding contract?I'd assume there's a clause in there that could get messy for Tracy. But I DONT know. How many Nats are we going to have at Tracy's?The Hillbilly Nats and the USRA Nats weren't enough?
I've been waiting on the sidelines hoping things would get better for quite some time now.........So I truly hope some good, fair racing comes out of this when the dust settles. But seriously I'm not getting my hopes up.
I know the system has to change but I hate to say it ,but they acted too hastily to take over things.Had they waited till the Nats, had a near 100% vote/racer support they might've pulled it off.But now we're stuck with the same old USRA and now the NASRA and soon to be 2 Nats and more division.

I don't even remember making the deposit.
As far as going through the proper channel's, from Ron's description of the voting process, is it even possible?
When he says "And I have a problem with that. And I always had a problem with that." why didn't he go through the proper channel's and have it changed?
I'm just thoroughly confused, and not interested enough, to make a serious effort to get "unconfused".
What little interest I had in the USRA, went out the window when a USRA Expert National Champion, was able to enter and win a USRA Amateur National Championship race.

Mike,I agree that how things were it was impossible to get anything addressed that didnt go with Roger's scheme.I remember Matt Bruce tried to do things through the proper channels and they simply ignored it because it didnt fit their agenda.
If i came across as not being supportive of what they're trying to accomplish I apologize as that was not my intention.I just feel it could have been executed a lot better. I really think they acted hastily and while I could very well be wrong as a racer this it how it appears.I do know they had the best of intentions but *** the old saying goes........Even the road to hell was paved with good intentions.
If they had simply drawn up a "rulebook/petition," that addressed the problems, handed it out at the Nats -E mailed it to the racers I think they could have ousted the current regime and Roger wouldnt have had a leg to stand on.I dont think there is a racer out there that isnt upset with how things are........Had they got petitions in the hands of the racers/members,got them signed showing the support from the membership, they then could have came out announced what they did and it'd probably have been a success.Lets face it any and every attorney would've laughed in Roger's face if he said all the members of my toy car club want me gone and are in the process of replacing our BOD with a interim Board so i need you to stop it ASAP ;-) Now we all know where the majority of the support lies but sad to say it didnt matter and Roger had the ammunition needed to retain the USRA and now it looks like we're going to have 2 "Nats"
