Dave left this neat little gem for Mark Mattei, on Saturday night. I got a chance to check it out tonight, and drive it a bit.

With an approx. 1/4" guide lead, and a 3" wheelbase, it's twitchier than all get-out, but it's weighted real well, and not overpowered. It was hard to deslot, and absolutely would not tip. When I overdrove the crap out of it, it did a 360, but stayed topside up.

After taking guesses, from the local racers, it would run about 10 second lap times, I managed a 8.76 on the Fiedler Flat.

It has about a layer and half of lead laminated on the bottom, around, and over one of my steel Retro nose pieces.

I'm gonna guess it weighs a bit more than 120 grams.

I was going to post that, but forgot.

Approximately 139 grams.

Just shows what some old guy does with his free time.

By the way, it also has one of Mike's early versions of the Versa-bracket.

Nice-looking "Tooler"!

That's the term Car Model gave to models with slot car running gear.

A talented old guy...

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Very cool but.....no driver figure?

There seem to be few choices in 1/24 scale.
