Made me laugh the exact same amount as you telling me I used the wrong color on my Joel Montague flag, after the fact.

In other words, Sick? Yes. Funny? No.

Does that answer your question? Hope that helps. :diablo:

Sorry. Not funny.

Especially for the raccoon.

The photo is just a stupid photo.

What's really stupid is, it made Mike P. laugh :bad:

The only thing that's sicker than that, is admitting it, in public, on a slot car forum.

The majority of us are animal lovers and appreciate Mother Nature.

Raccoons are extremely clean and hard working members of our planet.

I currently have a "Get well soon" balloon on the back of my lounge chair that came from Aliyah while I was in the hospital. :laugh2:

Coons around here carry rabies, so I stopped feeding them.

I love animals as much as anyone. I don't hunt. I don't like to see animals suffer. In fact I almost had a wreck this evening avoiding a dog that had darted out in the street. But I also understand how nature works, and it ain't pretty. Life for animals is a constant struggle for survival. Most animals never have an enjoyable moment in their entire lives, or even the ability to experience joy under any circumstances. And most animals lives end by being killed and eaten by another animal. And usually long before they reach old age.

So Mike's post doesn't bother me at all. Just part of life.

No one should ever feed wild animals, Bill, you are smart enough to know that.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only one human has ever died from the raccoon strain of rabies.

So your theory of Raccoons being rabies carriers is a myth or a local rumor.

More facts here:

Dallas Racer, your reply is full of non-truths.

The original post sickens me and I'm really sad to see slot car people not understanding the importance of wildlife health on this planet.

1. I am so glad you don't hunt. The thought of you with a weapon scares me.

2. You say "nature ain't pretty". Maybe it ain't pretty in Dallas, Texas, eh? Nature is beautiful. Get out of Dallas if you need to. Go to a National Park.

3. Life for animals isn't a constant struggle any more than it is for humans. Life is a wonderful thing.

4. You said "Most animals never have an enjoyable moment in their entire lives, or even the ability to experience joy under any circumstances"  And, "most animals lives end by being killed and eaten by another animal. And usually long before they reach old age" That is such a sick viewpoint on life.

I don't hunt. I'm not going to get on a soap box about hunting or hunters - their choice. I have the skills but it has never appealed to me - seems a bit one-sided.

Now, bear hunting with a bow and arrow - that might be called "sport."

During my teenage years I worked at a a restaurant that liberals frequented. I found it interesting that animal lovers preferred their steak medium rare.

I like animals more than I like people, yet I eat my steak medium rare to rare. Curious, isn’t it?

I took an attractive girl on a date when I was 19 years old. We drove past some roadkill that made her scream in pain. She said she rather see dead babies on the road then animals. She ordered a veal parm that night.

During dinner I felt compelled to tell her what veal was. I just couldn't help myself. I also walked her throught the process of how they bleed a cow in slaughter houses. That night was precious.

A lot of animal lovers have a total disconnect with reality. They have no idea how what they're eating ended up on their plate. That at one time it was an alive animal. They don't think about that. PETA is the worst about that.

You can be an animal lover, which I am, and still be in touch with reality when it comes to nature. I imagine millions of animals die in the mouths of some other animal every day. It's how nature works, and how it's suppose to work.

Around here dead animals along the side of the road are a very common occurrence, especially this time of year. I've seen everything from chipmunks to cattle splattered along the highway.
