With the Ohio Challenge Cup season winding down, our attention turns to the Season Ending 4 hour Enduro, held this year May 12 at Fastraxxx in Fremont, OH. Fastraxxx, a stalwart supporter of the OCC, is home of course to one of the tightest and trickiest tracks on the OCC circuit, the 95' American Royal!
This year's Enduro format will remain a GT1 format enduro, however in an effort to continue evaluating alternatives to the currently controversial Retro Hawk motor, each team entering this year's Enduro will receive two Pro Slot PS4001S motors to be used at the GT1 at 10/36 gearing. This is to open up the motor evaluation hopefully to attendees from a variety of tracks and skill levels and to gauge public opinion on this potential (nothing's set in stone) replacement.
It's our hope that we get some great feedback - positive or negative - from this event which has always been a great showcase for the fun and diversity of the Ohio Challenge Cup.
Entry fee will remain $60 per team as last year, with team sizes capped at four entrants. Don't forget to attend as well for season awards. Let's see those entries as we prepare to go out in style on a fantastic 2017-18!

Given the speed with which slots are filling up, should it be necessary a Ninth team slot will be made available for the purpose of including OCC competitors who were not able to place their entry soon enough.

Only a few days away and very exciting. The motors are sitting in wait, the plaques have arrived, and everything is looking like it's going to be a great show!

Work commitments unfortunately have meant that the New York based team of Chuck Kron's has had to withdraw from the Enduro this weekend, leaving a slot open should another team wish to join last minute. We thank Chuck for letting us know as soon as possible and hopefully we'll still see 8 teams for the Enduro!

Elmo joined Craig & I when we had some drop out so there are 2 slots open. It's 80% chance of rain Saturday so might as well come out & have some fun.

The winning team, owning the event from early in the going and never letting up throughout, The Mortals - Rob Voska, Elmo Vallance, Alex Stoudinger, and Craig Sharfenberg.
Runners up having set plenty of fast laps and vaulting from 4th to 2nd in the last heat, WFO - Eric Shirey, Willy Custer, and Hollywood Joe Gerencser
Rounding out the podium having a solid day until tweaked braids led to a series of no-reads on the lap counter, Team Haven - Ron Vincek, George Katzakis, Justin Porter
Running the only JK chassis in the field and working through guide flag issues through the day, in 4th the Michigan Mafia - Dave Decoster, Bob "Sawdust Man" Manzitti, Rich Attee, and Bob Foster.
The heartbreak of the day as this team swapped motors at the break when they lost speed, only to have a bad hit bind their axle and smoke their remaining motor in the last heat while running second. In fifth but with sympathies, Ask Keith - Keith Nelson and Jim Pace Jr.
Finally, while no mechanical issues were reported from these fellows, clearly the car was not handling to the team's liking from the drop of the green and they had a long day to come home 6th, Scuderia Fastraxxx - Chris Earnhardt, John Notestine, and Larry Deisenroth
