To date there have been four Triathlons in the Winter 2018 Series. The first was held on 1/11/18, the second on 1/25/18 and the third on 3/1/18 and the fourth on 3/22/18. Typically a series is comprised of six Triathlons. As the name implies, each Triathlon includes three races, Trans-Am, Mixed and GT1.

The series is ostensibly for True Scale cars with inexpensive H-bracket chassis and sealed motors (Falcon or Hawk 7 for GT1, Deathstar or Proslot balanced 16D for other classes). Some participants dont have a True Scale car for each class so; the race director has allowed OSCAR based scratch-built cars as a substitute.

Scoring of the series is based upon a points system. Each race is scored separately and points awarded as follows: 20, 15.13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, etc. for first through eighth place respectively. At the end of the series, points for all races are tallied and the driver accumulating the highest number of points is declared the series winner. The next highest total is second, etc.

Through four races, Bob is solidly in first place with 215 points. Rich is second with 199 points. If Bob shows up for the last two contests, it will be nearly impossible for Rich to overtake Bob. Ron is in third with 146 points with little hope of overtaking Rich. The gap of 53 point is simply too great. James missed the fourth race and as a result dropped to fourth place with 123 points. James will be hard pressed to overtake Ron but it is possible. The table below shows the details for all drivers participating in the series to date. Also shown below is a typical grid for each class

Bob has dominated the True Scale Trans-Am class winning all four races in the series. Bobs winning streak began when he swapped a 69 Barracuda body with a 67 Camaro. Rich (driving 69 Camaros) is in second place in the series with three second place finishes and a third place finish. Ron moved up to third place with 48 points finishing fourth in each of four Trans-Am outings. James dropped to fourth place due to his absence for the fourth race of the series. James point tally is 41, only 7 points behind Ron.

Mixed races allow a competitor to choose from cars in the True Scale Sports Car, Gran Sport or Can Am classes. Most competitors race Sports Cars because the chassis can be used interchangeably with Trans-Am rides. Only a body swap is required. Can-Am or Gran Sport cars are typically shorter and narrower than sports cars and lack the interchangeability with Trans-Am cars.

Rich has dominated the mixed races winning all four of the Winter 2018 series. Rich won the first and fourth race of the series with his record holding Ferrari 458. Rich won the second and third races of the series with his GT40. Bob is solidly in second place in the mixed class posting four second place finishes. Ron is in third (49 points) with three fourth place finishes and a third place finish. Do to his absence in race #4 James dropped to fourth place 39 points

In the Winter Series, Bob holds a near commanding lead with 75 points. He finished first in three contests and second in the fourth. Rich is solidly in second place with a single win and three second place finishes. Ron is in third with one third and three fourth place finishes. James dropped to fourth after missing race #4 only 6 points behind Ron.
