I watch this video constantly. (Hard to believe this video is 20 + years old. Crappy video quality.) He is still a bad a$$. Cannot believe he is 80 years old! Born in 1937 and still plays to this day. Such a cool song and was done years before I was even born.

I remember he performed in Huntington Beach, CA, for quite a while. Still got a few of his albums. One of the best surf guitar player.

Nice video.

Never heard of Dick Dale before, but then again I was standing ten feet from a guy in Pink Floyd but I didn't know his name. Found out later it was David Gilmore. He was at the Hamilton, OH, airport to buy a friend of mine's P51 Mustang.

He is quite ill and still performs to pay his medical bills. He hasn’t lost a beat. A few good live videos on YouTube.

Earned my chops on instrumental surf music, like the Arrows, Ventures, and, of course, Dick Dale. I had seen him several times

at Huntington beach, and in the courtyard at Marina Del Rey.

Incidently, in that video he is playing a lefty Strat, strung righty. But back in the day, I saw him playing a right hand Jaguar

upside-down. I see he also does what a lot of us early Strat players did. Remove the knob from the pot near the bridge. We

were forever hitting it while strumming at that end.

Wasn't Hendrix another lefty who strung the guitar right-handed?

I saw him in SoCal a couple of years ago and he is still amazing!! What a great guy, too – small venue so we got to talk to him and he was very gracious. Still rocking after all these years!!

Most of what I saw of Hendrix was when he was playing a righty Strat upside down. I actually don't remember if he flipped the strings.

Hendrix restrung his right-handed Strat to a left-handed configuration. Dick Dale just played his in the traditional right hand configuration but played it upside down. ;) The Strat he is playing in this video appears to be a "lefty' model, but is still strung like a right-handed model.

We saw Junior play The Florida Theater about 10 years ago as the opening act for Roy Clark.

We were just there to see Junior.
