Well, I got to DeLand abut 4:30 PM, having left Norcross at about 7:30 AM. Meant to leave even earlier but I didn't get to sleep until after 4 AM...

Came in, said hello to Jay and Marilynn, and promptly went to take a nap before dinner!

Just wanted to say that when I arrived, Jay said, "Marilynn is busy painting." "What's she painting?" I asked. "The track."

Sure enough, she was painting the blue sidewalls on Jay's new home track orange. When I walked into the track room, I didn't see her at first. Then I noticed she was underneath the donut reaching up to paint the inner sidewalks with a narrow roller. What a wife!! That Jay sure is a lucky guy...

Due to the tight driver straight and safety conditions, the GRRR directors have decided that during the 1 minute lane change period, the race car can be oiled and the braid straightened out. No other work can be done, such as, change the braid. After oiling the car, simply move the car to the next lane and change the color sticker. At all times, the race car must remain at the location on the track that the car came to a stop.

Is there any requirement for a minimum/maximum driving time for each racer?

Have fun.

I think there is a two heat minimum in each of the two cycles through the lanes.

Also, during practice, let the teams adhere to one team one lane. We have eight teams and there are eight lanes, so let's be reasonable about the use of the lanes tomorrow.

Just pulled back into Jay's place after the GRRR enduro and the post-race bull sessions (read beer and food at Chili's). Long day but a great race.

I'll have a decent report tomorrow or Monday, as I am leaving roughly at dawn for the eight-hour drive back home to Slotblog World Headquarters. And am simply too tired to do it tonight.

What a fun day of racing!

I hope this race is going to happen on an annual basis.

Sign me up right now.

I agree with Danny, it was a lot of fun even if we didn't have as good a result as we would have liked but hey, that's racing.

There's already talk of an annual GRRR Enduro so that's cool and I'm all in for that!

I think that a GRRR enduro should be an annual event. I am still recuperating from this one, so its hard to entertain much thought about the next one!

However, it was a great race and there was a lot of movement among the various teams except for 1st place. Mike's team had everybody covered. Awesome racing J.A.R.

About 12 of us had a debrief at Chili's afterwards; some good beer and talk about the next one. I think that for next year we agreed that we need to restore the typical 2 minute lane change period. However, maintain the same rule concerning what can be done to the car. Basically, "no tools" and the car must stay at the track.

I have been thinking that a big race in Florida should be in late February. Anyway, stay tuned.

Had a great time, it was really close up through heat 10 I think 2nd was within 5 laps. Looking forward to the next endurance race, wish there was more of them like this.
