Keith Libby TQ'ed Stock Car, while Jimmy Williams Jr. was TQ in F1.
Jimmy and Dom Luongo went 1-2, in Stock Car.
Keith took the win in F1, with Jimmy and Dom rounding out the podium.
Finishing on the same lap as Jimmy and Dom, was "Dancin'" Ed Sohl, also using a CR Low CG flag.
Keith Libby set new records for F1 total laps and Stock Car race lap, while Jimmy set a new total lap record in Stock Car.

I'm usually pretty good at checking out race results, but I had missed this.
Big congrats to Danny "DZ" Zona, on his sweep of Can Am, F1, and Stock Car, at GRRR Race #2, in Winter Garden, using the CR Low CG guide flag.

Congrats to Jerry Herbert, Keith Libby, and Jimmy Williams on their 1,2,3 sweep, in the Can-Am (only) race, at Retro East Event #13, at Speedzone.
http://slotblog.net/...-finals-report/
And super-congrats to Keith Libby, as the overall champ.
As far as I can tell, he's been using the C/R guide for at least the 2nd half of the season.

And to all Retro East, CR RF Low CG users, whose wins and podiums have contributed to it's unprecedented success, since I came up with the concept, and started selling them, over a year ago, in April of 2018.

What is the weight of a stock RF, brass RF & tungsten RF?
#114
Posted 13 May 2019 - 08:40 PM
stock RF, 1.5G (IIRC, I machined all I had, over the weekend)
brass RF,2.2G / .7G heavier (Gugu claimed .8G or .9G on the ones he measured, when I first came out with them)
tungsten RF 2.9G / 1.4G heavier (see post # 5, under the pic)
.7G heavier, was quoted for brass, when I first tried it, in this thread;

Note, my expensive Ohaus scale hasn't been calibrated in awhile (I had a customer that did that for a living, but I haven't seen him in awhile)

Thanks to all at the Group F World's, yesterday, at Mark's Model World, who used the CR Low CG guide flag.
Along with Eric Shirey's TQ, (on Red), Bud Denning (2nd), Bill Fulmer, and Gary Cooper, took 3 of the top 5 spots.
And the day before, Retro Racing's #1 cheerleader, Mike Fleming, scored an awesome 2nd place finish, from the B Main, in the 41 car, Flexipalooza, GTP field, also at MMW, with his self-assembled, Bud Denning tuned, CR flag equipped, car.
Jim Harter also TQ'ed in that huge GTP field, with a CR flag equipped, Bud Denning car.

I had to order 1/8" wide material, and have extra, so on the chance anyone else wants to try these, they can.
Same price.

First of all, big congrats to Port Jeff Raceway, and Joe Neumeister, on the record 47 car turnout, in Stock Car today, at Retropalooza 10.
The Port Jeff crew's commitment to slot car racing, and Noose's, to Retro racing , is truly a thing to behold.
Congrats to Jerry Herbert on his TQ,
The top 7 qualifiers, all used, CR Low CG guide flags.
And super congrats to Joe "Chubby" Salzman, on his hard fought win over Keith Libby, and Jimmy Williams.
(At least) the top 6 finishers used the Low CG flag.
Big thanks, from me, to all these top racers, on choosing my modified Red Fox guide.

After having these field tested, the last 3-4 months, by some of the top racers in the country, and not hearing of any downside. I've decided to officially announce these.
Racers may of noticed these on quite a few, winning and podium cars, with the brass rectangle, visible in the top view of the post.
While the top guys don't hit stuff, as much, they have related about taking some real bad hits in practice, with the post support doing it's job.
The inspiration behind these, were racers, were occasionally still snapping their guide post, even on the stronger graphite version of the Red Fox guide, so I came up with a way to both Low CG, weight them, and provide even better post support than when I was pinning the original, "new" Red Fox non-graphite flag, starting a few summers ago, with a piece of .039" to .045" wire.
Instead of using just common, 1/4" x .025", K & S brass strip, I had a somewhat complex shape, CNC milled, from top .025" brass, to both provide a .093" wide strip to reinforce the post, which is also, even wider at the non threaded part, at the base, to absorb the load, at the back of the guide tongue.
The neat part is the vertical slot, in the back, of the post "seals" up, when threaded, as the bottom pic shows.
With having the post supported, I'm now comfortable enough to offer the Red Fox dyed plastic, in a Low CG version.
I will try to honor color choices, if possible,on the dyed plastic, but at least in the beginning, I won't be stocking many.
New style in either graphite or plastic - unthreaded
New style in either graphite or plastic - threaded
I will continue selling the original Low CG flag.
Before threading.
After threading. Nuts go on, no differently.
The reflection of the brass makes the pic less clear, but you can see how when the guide hits something, the brass, at the base, absorbs the hit.
The brass is glued throughout the inside of the blade, so the glued surface area, is infinitely more, than a piece of round wire.
