Hello to all

This year for our vintage race in Bordeaux, I decided to do the race with a Allard.

The theme this year is Goodwood.

I will therefore use the bodywork PACTRA, and try to fit an engine below, without

cutting the bodywork, this is not easy.

The PROTO SLOT KIT resin driver has been adapted to the cockpit.

I cut off her legs and arms, oh my god!

I have the 1/24 Pactra Allard fitted to a 1/32 Cox sidewinder chassis - an easy fit and it runs well on urethane Cox repro tires.  If I can find it, I'll take a photo.

Hey Al - Cox never made a 1/32 sidewinder chassis! Which one are you thinking of?

Great project Régis - and you're starting even later than me, that's always encouraging. Régis always comes up with killer chassis, can't wait to see what he does here... I did the Pactra a number of years ago, with an Ulrich suspension chassis and steering.

Looks like there will be a couple more Allards this year, carved out of Balsa.... including mine!

Just pulled it out of a box and looked - yes, it looks like it is 1/24 - big chrome can motor, trapezoidal mid section, sprung drop arm and front axle mounted by a plastic "suspension" molding.  I built it almost 20 years ago for one of the Las Vegas Rad Trax gatherings.  Cox wheels (look like a Ferrari pattern) and screw-on knock offs.

Yep, sounds like the 1/24 Cox - wouldn't have thought it fit the Allard!

A green Allard was the "cover car" project on a Car Model issue in the 60's. IIRC it used an open frame motor.

Yep, Pittman DC706 with the integral sidewinder gears, in a Dynamic frame...

I have matched the Cox/Pactra Allard vs similar DC 706 powered cars.  The Cox chassis has significantly more top end.

Thank you friends

The chassis is adjusted to this body, but despite this.

I was forced to cut the body slightly because of the engine bearing.

16D engine and Russkit rims, that's good

Merci...

The body is almost finished, he remains the driver to paint.

For the radiator grille and other aréas, I used self-adhesive aluminum from inside the bodywork.

I made the straps with a piece of telephone wire, masking tape and some brown paint.

Here is the finished body with his driver to whom I cut the head, it is easier to paint.

The dashboard is made of 0.4 mm thick aluminum sheet.

The pilot is screwed on his seat

That looks great Régis. Lots of good ideas on how to build out this unusual body.  :good:

Thank you friends

Here are 2 photos of the car on these wheels, because the engine was heated, I had to replace it with an open cage motor, which resulted in a modification of the chassis, it is currently disassembled for varnishing.

Photos soon, no knockoff in aluminum for the wheels, so as not to damage the cars during the race, if it participates.

Beautiful job Régis, and should preform well!

Looks very close to what appeared in Car Model, Feb. 1966.

But it should be a lot faster Jairus, because the Car Model one had a Pittman DC706 in a Dynamic chassis...

Funny, looking at Régis' chassis, I realize I've got an old period Allard that also uses a front-mounted motor with a coupling to drive the rear wheels... not quite as neat as Régis' Allard! But the same problem getting the driveshaft through the cockpit... hmm, maybe I should restore this one for Bordo, and keep Régis honest!
