Those are very cool!! I think you should outlaw the o-ring wheels for better scale appearance-- :)    Love the little cars!! Are they "womp" chassis or can they be scratch built?

Thanks Tim :)

Fronts and chassis: read this part of my rules again:

"Motor, chassis, and front wheels – no restrictions."

I'm open to suggestions on how to improve it so it's clear.

I'm looking for 3 things at tech:

-is it a painted 1/24 Go-kart body?

-are the wheels and widest part of the car <3.250" width?

-does the chassis and gear clear 1/32 in back?

Takes less than a minute to tech 10 about cars :sun_bespectacled:

Add this to the rules (if it's not listed in the rules you can do it.)

Why did you change the motors to Fks only the reason I liked that class was you could run a built motor.

First of all, let me say I started my rules with several underlying intentions in the interest of fun racing:

-I earmarked them with this: "Rev. 1" with the date. That way I can make changes and you'll know if you are looking at the latest edition. Now we are using "Rev. 2" dated 7/12/2018

-I wanted the casual budget-minded racer to be able to feel he or she can use some equipment they already have, use a reasonable priced budget motor and chassis, and actually have a good chance of winning. Leaving your buddies in the dust is a guaranteed recipe for bad turnouts.

-I started off by allowing any motor to see just how much HP we could put into them before it became a speed-crazed-moron money war. We are now there, and I believe the majority of us agree it's time to throttle back.

-Instead of specifying exactly what motor(s) can be used, I feel it's smart to simply mandate any FK permanently sealed type motor because every time the latest lightning-fast Falcon 8 or Phoenix 2 comes along, I won't have to change my motor rule. The racer decides what motor to use. If a new batch of Super Hawk Screamer 6's come from China and are really slow, no problem, simply go to a different motor.

-I started off with no restrictions on air control much the same reasoning as the motors - I wanted to see what the racers would come up with. Again, like the motors, we are now there, and I believe the majority of us agree it's time to ditch the wings so we aren't just racing wing cars.

Hope that explains my mindset. We want to increase participation, not alienate people :D :good:

Now, where did I put that doggone new Phoenix motor??

As dc-65x always says, "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" :dance3:

Oh, there you are, Bill :) Your idea of possibly making the forward bite bar on a JK C43 chassis double as a front axle is going to be examined here at The Wolcott Ranch very soon :wink2:

Since karts have now been added as a permanent part of the normal NASCAR/DTM, Retro Flexi, (and now) Go-kart tri-monthly rotation, it's obvious we need to make 2 additional changes:

-Heat durations are now same as the others - 3 minutes, eliminating having to re-program the race software each time.

-Allow the "Two-Minute" rule to fix your car in the same manner as all other classes.

And so it shall be. Here are the revised rules:

Revision 6, 7/6/2019

Body must be a painted 1/24 JK style Go-kart; no aerodynamic improvements allowed except for a single rear spoiler which is limited to 1.5” width and 5/8” height. Driver's helmet may not be modified in any way.

Maximum width 3 1/4”, rear clearance 1/32” measured with flag in a recessed block.

Motor must be an FK type permanently sealed non-rebuildable motor with internal non-serviceable brushes.

Any stamped steel chassis. Front wheels are mandatory and the minimum OD is 1/2".

Heats are three minutes duration and the "Two-Minute" fix rule is the same as all other classes.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers win Ralph Thorne box plaques. Concours will be judged and a plaque awarded for the final time at the 7 September 2019 race, then discontinued.

Go-karts will be raced every third month as part of the normal NASCAR/DTM, Retro Flexi, (and now) Go-karts rotation.
