In a previous post topic in a different thread somewhere about mounting a 26D from the can drive that the availability of a period correct "manufactured" bolt on motor bracket was ever produced.

Apparently Classic Industry manufactured 2 mounts. The included axle oil lite "extra wide" bearings provide excellent frame bracing opportunities.

1. part number #2636 mount was for endbell mounting.

2. part number #2640 mount was for can end mounting.

Fit up was perfect.

If your building a rear mount can drive thingie here's a period correct mount to seek out.

Thanks Gene, never realized that...

Have never seen one for sale, but wasn't really looking either, since I didn't know they existed...

I don't recall seeing these either or their being used in any magazine construction articles. The axle tube pieces look to be way ahead of their time. Gene, are those parts machined or cast? They appear to be machined to me.

Axle\tube bearings appear to be machined.

Motor bracket is die stamped.
