Poll on FB says 51 to 6 in favor of TN so far.

I would imagine different racers will attend each. Well within their right to do so. My understanding it was about leadership and different views on how to proceed.
At the end of the day if it will grow slot car racing more power to them.

It is accurate to call it 'dueling' because it's the result of two factions refusing to compromise for the greater good of the activity. How much sense does it make for the miniscule numnber of wing cars racers in 2018 to fragment into separate sanctioning bodies? It makes none to me and why it happened should be clear to anyone with two brain cells to rub together.
"At the end of the day if it will grow slot car racing more power to them."
IMO there is zero possibility that this will be the effect that ensues.
The situation is another example of what almost always happens in an evaporating farm pond...

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

There won't be 57 "racers" at either event. (and there should be)

I fail to see how this is dueling. Two groups holding their big go three weeks apart. How is that dueling?

The two groups used to be one group and the relative attendance at these events will likely decide the credibility of both. I'd call that a duel.

I think you're being overly pessimistic... but I have to agree that attendance will, unfortunately, not be as good as it should be.

I'm going to TN and there'sgood chance I'll be in TX also.
I do think there only should be one Group 2 Divs and the only way that will happen is to replace those in charge at the top of the USRA.

USRA Nats in TX attendance:
Gp 7: 9 racers
TMO: 5
27L: 11
OMB: 9
Gp F: 11
C12: 6 (non Nats race)
It will be interesting to compare this with the upcoming NASRA Nats in TN

I haven't attended a national wing race in a couple years. However, coming from a sport (powerlifting) where there are over 10 federations in the US alone and all of them have their nationals. It is the lifters who show who has the true nationals, which I think is the case in slot racing rt now. Its just sad to see an organization, with the history like USRA, to be flushed down the drain.

Looks like there just might be a bigger turnout for the Tenn. race. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I haven't raced a GP7 car in 30 years, probably couldn't even watch one go around the track now. Still, this is sad to see.

FYI:
70 entries for the Battle of the Colonies Retro race, 2 races run in one day.
51 entries for Texas Nat's, 6 races run in 5 or 6 days.

It's sad that ego's and arrogance still create so many problems in slot racing. It's not like we have a big organization anymore---the few that are left need to get along!! Get together and FIX IT!! NO ONE is benefiting from this!!

23 racers and three classes of cars including 9 of the "too fast" Anglewinder Big Dog cars!
Surplus of marshalls and great low drama competition!

Have to wonder why.
Despite all the other problems the coverage of the USRA Div I Nats was very good. Seems NASRA would want to showcase its Nats as well.
