Hope that is the case, too.

I can't attend the full event but am hoping to go up to TN to video the Open Main and to post it to YouTube to replace the 2010 Worlds Open Main video from Helsinki that has been so widely viewed on that platform.

We're eight years down the road with wing cars now... time for some more recent coverage IMO.

I need a good tripod... anyone nearby got one they can lend me?

Slick 7 or Zap?

Planning to race, also? LOL.

Not me.

The last wing car I raced was an Outlaw 12, which was a Parma Flexi 1 with a wing body. Cozine and a couple of other ex-Champion guys (Bill Temple being one) kicked our asses in that class. Timeframe was early '80s.

I guess my tripod joke went over your head. LOL.

PS: I think it's great you are updating a wing race for You Tube.

I'm sure you'll make it clear that they are the fastest cars, as not to scare some people off.

I am guessing Greg just ignored the pod joke to just mess with you. I would compare in person watching wing cars for the first time like dropping in on a fast oval Indy car race for the first time. It is just mesmerizing the ridiculous cornering speed.

Unfortunately, unlike TV, watching wing cars on video just does not translate. It is just not a good visual. Watching Indy cars on TV loses something, but not as much as wing cars. Seeing the drivers and other antics is entertaining.

Good luck with the coverage, Greg. It will still be fun to watch.

I hope all the racers will put on a good show at the Nats in TN for me as this will be my first wing Nats since the Buena Park race in 2000. They were incredibly fast then and the cars seem to have jumped to ludicrous speed now.

Please find me and say hello. I should be there around 5 PM on Wednesday.

I spoke to the raceway Sunday morning, they said they are working on streaming for the NASRA Nats. Good.

As you will see, you have to go to YouTube to watch it.

And I am not getting any sound. Is anyone else getting audio?

That has been confirmed on the YouTube chat.

Interesting someone is watching, wearing a pretty heavy jacket.

A Main had a much cleaner race. Jeff did awesome taking the win. Top five went over 500 laps, Big John from NorCal coming in second.

Bill,

You had a few numbers wrong, so I corrected them and changed the total.

The funny thing was someone trolled the comment section of the feed, IIRC, on Saturday, claiming the USRA race had a better field.

Thanks, Mike, but Group F had 15, not 11, the rest of the totals are correct AFAIK

http://www.nasra.rac...LapsOverall.htm

Brings the total back to 183.

Regardless of the totals, the racers voted with their entries.

Cheers.

I had changed only 27L and OMO, because they didn't seem right.

It turns you had C12 incorrect, also, and I changed that, and the grand total.

C12 was a bit confusing because of the format they used.

The OWH threads on the race clear it up a bit.

So the usual suspects get together again and showcase their amazing technological skills and inhuman reflexes.

Congratulations!

But exactly what's what, eh?

Other than qualifying on red (why not Opens, too? :laugh2:) and some rules changes that make the restricted classes even more like Opens, I don't see much.

The poor USRA race turnout has much to do with scheduling... can't afford to put out that kind of effort twice in three weeks.

Tracy's was the original USRA Nats choice of the racers and they kept their choice, especially the racers from outside the USA.

It's not so much support of NASRA as continuing with what was planned a year ago.

So, where's the next NASRA Nats? Is this going to be a yearly thing in Tennessee three weeks away from the USRA Nats?

Reminds me of Bush and his "Mission Accomplished" banner... not so much accomplished.

BTW, kudos to Gary Gerding for his ability to make a high speed banked oval with both left and right hand turns.
