I got this off of Craigslist.
I can see that it is some sort of Lola, made by somebody.
I think that is a Champion chassis?
But check out the sprung front axle!
Who made that?

Thanks!

I have a lot of lola bodies, and for sure I have this one, but don't remember the brand this moment. Lancer maybe. But chassis is a Dynamic for sure.

As OP said, the Lola body with the sidedraft Weber carbs is by Lancer and the chassis is by Dynamic.

That spring-loaded front end was a Dynamic accessory for their diecast chassis.

Ted,

You even have the Dynamic tongue weight. Not sure what is holding the chassis together in the middle? Looks like it is missing two screws? Is it just glued together?

Might be a hot little 26D as well. Nice find.

It looks glued.

It probably is glued. Screws with the proper head bevel to fit Dynamic chassis parts are difficult to find. I got a few once, but I forget where they came from.

Do you have any more pics of the front end? Never seen that before.

Thanks! That is cool. I'll have to try and find one on eBay.

I remember when Jack Garcia made a trip into Arizona way back, he introduced the wire front end from Dynamic along with the handling bodies. They were quickly bought up by guys that screwed their cars together but not the guys who soldered their own chassis. Jack was very fast but did not fare were at Kapps Raceway's Tuesday night "Pro" race on the American orange. After his visit every track in town carried Green Hornets and Dynamic flexible chassis. Jack was our first visit that I can recall from a SoCal Pro racer, a very nice gent with a lot of great ideas.

Wasn't Jack a very good body painter in addiion to his other slot car talents? I never  met the man but I've read a couple articles about him & have heard numerous stories about the man.

Jack was the body mold maker for Dynamic.

If I remember this correct he was sponsored by Dynamic and was on the Dynamic racing team. I remember seeing pics of Dynamic center sections with brass pans.

Jack was employed by Dynamic and of course was part of their race team.

I missed that on your post #12, did not realize he was the mold maker. Was checking my facts when you posted.

Nice bio on post  #50 http://slotblog.net/...c-in-ads/page-2

There's currently one on eBay. It appears to be a one piece axle. I'm confused. Maybe you have to cut it in half? That would make sense, as the ends look like they should be in the middle.

I had that front end on my awesome Classic 470 powered, 66'(?) Fairlane.

It's scored in the middle, and you snap it in half.

If you blow up the pic, it state's that in the beginning of the instructions.

OK, thanks.

It doesn't seem like the cutting process would be anymore difficult or time consuming than the notching process. Why not just go ahead and cut it?

Good question.

If I had to guess, by how they were careful to cover the ends of the wire, they thought if they cut it, it would be 2 more ends to cover.
