Hi all, i have this 1/32 Strombecker body, listed as "Chevy Lola", as far as my research shows......and i have it disassembled, ready to be painted. I have it mounted on an E.J.s hobbies brass chassis kit, and would like to paint it to match the real car.

Anyone know which model Lola this is supposed to be? It is molded in orange......i believe it is one of the later Strombecker issues, maybe late 60s, early 1970s??

thanks!!

Hi Glenn,

Your pic is not here. Probably forget it.

I'm afraid is the same problem I have with my Chevy Lola, I can't recognize it...but I have a book about Lolas that reflects almost clear that could it be a Lola T160, as used by the carl Haas Simoniz Team in '68 at can Am season.

With the same dude, I can't recognize very well my other Strombecker, in picture below. People who sold it to me, said that it's a T70, but it's better to think in a McLaren M1A or M1B:

The red car is a McLaren Mark II according to the 1967 Strombecker catalog.

Fantastic...a couple of problems off...

I was looking for Strombecker catalogs, but only found a couple of previous years, and "internet" didn't give me any clue.

Thanks...

Hi fellas, well here are some pix of my finished car. Even with this narrow body, the car handles and performs quite well on plastic tracks. I used a completely stock out of the box EJ's hobbies kit, and used his wider rear wheels and tires, and i am quite happy. I added some paint details and decals and polished the body with model kit wax for plastic bodies. I did think to repaint it, but the wax brought out a nice enough orange to keep it stock. Hope you enjoy this fun little car:

The orange car is a Lola T160 and the red one a McLaren MKII according to the 1967 Strombecker catalogue.
Neither is a very good model of the real thing but eh, what do you want for $5.95? ;)
