I think it's a great idea since you don't need slicks, and aren't abusing your trans as much.

I'm a traditionalist. Drag racing starts from a dead stop. But this is a way to reduce the shock to the driveline. I 

wonder how they guarantee that both cars hit the start line together. I'm not sure I understand that part. If one

of the cars is a "pace car", then it is really a time trial. The winner would be the car with the lowest E.T. If it is

two competitors side-by-side. what guarantees that the cars will be exactly even at the light? And why call it

"street racing" if it is held at a drag strip. Nothing in this type of racing says it will not also be done on the public

roads.
