CanAm on the King – 5/29/18
It has been a really long time (over a year by my reckoning) since we raced Can-Am on the Gerding G-7 King on a Tuesday evening and quite a while since John Weaver has raced at all. The results, however, were what was expected as a total of eight racers showed up to run in the 4/4 format.
Ray Lee was just 1/1000th of a second shy of matching Weaver’s best time of the evening but fell short on the lap total as John claimed the win by five laps. There was a 17-lap gap to the next finisher with Ernie LaChance taking the bottom step on the podium. He led 4th place finisher Dan Savage by just three laps while Rich Girvin and Richard Payne were in hot pursuit, each trailing by another lap. Tom Smith and Dick Griffin closed out the field.
Finishing Order, laps recorded, and best overall lap time:
1) John Weaver 317/8 4.437
2) Ray Lee 312/12 4.438
3) Ernie LaChance 295/1 4.718
4) Dan Savage 292/3 4.672
5) Rich Girvin 291/3 4.734
6) Richard Payne 290/7 4.781
7) Tom Smith 283/7 4.773
8) Dick Griffin 264/10 5.164
