The BoD of the Ohio Retro Series has decided to follow the IRRA® and allow any legal motor per their (IRRA®) published rules. As there is no perfect solution to what some perceive as a "motor problem," we have decided this is the best option for the majority of our racers.

Not sure but can old R motors be used or just 7R7R7R and short shaft motors?

The old R Made in China is about the only one that has been dubbed illegal with the new IRRA® rule set. The newest short shaft RRRRRRR motors are pretty sporty.

Those motors are old stock now. Can these be bought anywhere?

While I have the 9R in stock, I think Will was just being sarcastic.

IE-the quick switch from 8R engraved motors, to 9R.

I am interested in purchasing the motors before the recent R version. I think it is the 8R.

The 9R May be better but I have heard good results with the 8R.

Always a day late and a dollar short. Will this mean a new ruling soon about the old stock motors?

No.

In 2 or 3 years, maybe.

The 8 and 9 R motors are both about the same. I haven't seen a ton of difference in either one. They're both good.

Tom: the IRRA motor rules permit 7R7R7R7R motors with one short shaft and one long shaft, but prohibit cutting the end bell side shafts on two long shaft versions of the same motor. That makes absolutely no sense. Would the ORS Board consider permitting those of us with a supply of the double long shaft versions to trim the end bell side shaft?

Why would you want to trim the shaft?
