Greetings,
I will be submitting a new item/idea/product to Viper Scale Racing to see if it's something they want to market as a hop-up for Tomy Super G+ or Viper cars as it would work universally. If they are not interested I will post here what it is. Stay tuned.

Let me guess, some sort of rubber pads behind the endbell contact pads to apply pressure to the pickup holders?
Hmm... a small dab of silicone sealant might do the job just as well.

Phil, the guy Mario, who talked about this, drove wing cars at Buena Park. Three or four years ago he moved away from slot cars & he had some family issues. His other big hobby was racing RC boats. He tried to get me involved more than once.
