Are Alpha Piranha tires softer than JKs?

The JK's are about #10 on the durometer but I don't know about the Alpha's. I'd like a 7 or 8....

It will depend on the batch.

Piranhas tend to have more grip than JKs. :)

Is there a generalization you could make, understanding each batch may be different?

The Alphas and JK are relatively comparable; my experience has been that the Alphas may be slightly softer... like Mike said, depending upon the batch.

I've found the JK and Alpha tires to be very similar.  I usually try each while testing before a race and go with the set that feels best.  And as stated the batch makes a difference, as batches can vary.
