I am selling a large amount of vintage soldering "junque" Most is Unger ( a division of Eldon ) and a nice Weller iron too. More over the coming days. These came from my friends dad who was a certified solderer for Grumman here on LI. Anyway, if you win anything and are a SB member I will give you free domestic shipping. Just advise me at auction end. Free shipping is for soldering items only.

Check all auctions to see all.

Also, I will be listing tons of slot car "smalls" here as well. Many hard to find bits.

Thanks.

Joe I have two questions about the soldering irons.  Do the tips listed fit the heating elements, specifically the 47 1/2 watt ones?  Also, do you know if the heating elements will fit into a newer Weller handle? Thanks for any additional info you can provide.

Hey,Jay.

The screw on tips I have are for the Imperial irons I have listed. The tips have internal threads.

This pic shows ( to the left ) the tip and heat cartridges that fit the Imperial iron. If you put all 3 pieces together it makes a complete iron.

I'm not sure what the 47 1/2 tip fits. It has internal threads on one side and threads on the other end. I'm showing it with a 1/32 slot wheel for size comparison.

Hope this helps.

OK, I think I figured it out. The 47 1/2 fits the Ungar soldering pencil. Like you use for wood burning.

I also realized I do have the tips for these listed as well. #'s 331 and 333 fit these tips as shown.

I do not have any pencil handles here but there may be some coming. I will have to check.

Do the 47 1/2 W heaters screw into the Ungar soldering iron handles? If so, why not just use them? I own red, blue, & black Ungar handles. The black was once sold at Radio Shacks.

I heard they weren't going to make yardsticks any longer.

The 47 1/2's fit the Ungar pencil as shown.

As far as using them, how many irons does one need?
